71 Dart get 408/ Trick Flow Heads....

Too big?!?!, LOL....I have the 6468 in my 408 and it runs 6.4's. I can't imagine going smaller....I love the 6468, that thing pulls really hard up top.

LOL!! I blame talk to text for that one, Hahaha!

What size driver (or socket) to install tail shaft seal on a 904?

Unknown, all I know is my son sent me a picture of the seal hanging around the yolk, lol… I said, that’s not good.

What size driver (or socket) to install tail shaft seal on a 904?

Odd question, but I'm driving 13 hours to go fix my son's truck (and car), and one of the things I know it needs (among many things) is a new seal on the tail shaft of the transmission. I just wanted to be sure I have all the right tools before I make a fast trip. Thanks in advance.

    Looking to improve 60 foot

I guess I will mention (although this starts into "significant" changes)....my car used to run 10.8 @ 123 ish with a 1.50 60' (previous engine). A friend of mine rebuilt my 727 when I was in a real jam ( I burned up the trans 1 week before the bracket finals), long story short, whatever he did...

    Looking to improve 60 foot

Just looking at the incrementals, it (the 60') looks about right for the ET/MPH. Probably not too much to gain with out some "significant" changes. Just my 2 cents.

Connecting Rods needed for try his crank

For rods, Scat I-beams are hard to beat. They are are cheap, light weight, and can handle quite a bit of power. I have a set in my 408 that runs low 10's.

360 build. Is this good street build? Heads work?

As long as you are happy with it, and it does what you want it to do, then the HP numbers don't matter. If you decide to go faster, just ask....all of us yahoo's on the internet can help you spend ALL your money on speed parts, lol.

Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

I have not used nitrous since I switched from stock stroke to stroker motors (so, since 2008). I have considered it....but when I built the current motor I did not gap my rings for nitrous use (since I'm already pushing the limits of my rods and block). My cheater setup now sits on a shelf...

Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

I didn't read all the bickering in pages 2-8 (just skimmed it)...but to the OP's question, here my example of a good running non offset head combo: My car is not the fastest, but it works well....it has gone 10.1 at 130.5 mph with my small carb in decent air....normally runs low 10.3's in the...

    Transbrake/launch control button

I put my 2-step button on my steering wheel last year.....not really liking it. Don't get me wrong, I love the location of it when I'm racing, but turning gets the cord stuck in the wheel sometimes...and the cord hits the turn indicator ALL THE FREAKING TIME.....not a fan. I think I'm probably...

ATI super damper on my engine (and its rebuildable if you ever feel the need).

What do you think it could run?

Dang, that's a big drop in ET from street to race (and dropping 250lbs....wowza). Just curious, what did you do differently from street setup to race? Only asking because my car runs exactly the same in street trim and race trim (because I don't change anything).

HV oil pump vs Stock oil pan

I believe that is a myth that the "HV pump will suck the pan dry". Someone debunked it a few years back, but I can't find the link....granted, I use a HV pump in my car with a 7qt pan, but only use 6 qts.

What do you think it could run?

I would bet low to mid 13's. I've never been a fan of the 383...its got the weight of a big block with the cubes of a small block (approximately)...just my opinion.

    Moroso water pump drive kits

Not sure if it is right or wrong, but I run a gutted thermostat and the Moroso water pump drive kit. Granted, my car runs on e85, but I don't have over heating issues driving on the street or track with this setup. I use a Chevy HHR fan that helps immensely at keeping the car cool when stuck...

    oh so close......

My old nitrous motor (360 eddy heads) tune was 27-28° timing with a 180 shot from my cheater system. This with 50/50 mix of 93 octane/110 octane gas. Altogether this knocked 2.8 seconds off my ET, 13.9-11.1 (this was in Colorado at Bandimere Speedway). Too much timing can kill a nitrous...

    Fuel line run question

Weird...like I said, I might be missing something, it just doesn't make sense to me. For example, I run e85 (about 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) and I have never had such an issue. I drive the car a lot on the street and the track, no problems. Funny! The second part of that statement (way...

    Fuel line run question

Also to note: Gasoline is more volatile than ethanol (i.e. has a lower heat of vaporization value compared to ethanol), so running gas with less ethanol really doesn't sound like the move here. I have heard this for many years, but looking at the delta H values, it just doesn't make sense to me...

    Fuel line run question

Another line of thought, don't have it dead head...make a return line. There are other solutions, but this one should work.

    oh so close......

Gotcha, I was just looking at the 10.1 @ 131 part...that is pretty much identical to what my car is running (ET and speed), and my car is very well sorted out. That is why I was saying a little more nitrous would put you over the top, or if it could handle it, a couple more degrees of timing...

    oh so close......

Nice work! Just a little be more and you'll make it (bump it to a 250 shot and you're there). My plan WAS to go for a 9.9999 when the air got cool, but my car had other plans. Got a leaking freeze plug that ended my season a little early. Oh well, next year I'll try again. I would need near...

Struggling at high rpm above 6000

I agree with PRH, try removing the nitrous plate and see if the problem goes away. It is possible you introduced a vacuum leak with the plate, or maybe one of your solenoids is leaking.

    W2 408 Dyno results today !

I would have expected ~520 ish hp with that combo. Might just be a stingy dyno (if so, no biggie, its just a tool). Just take it to the track and see what it actually does. Those heads look like they would support 600hp if you ever decide to built the engine with that as a goal. The power...

Struggling at high rpm above 6000

Might be your ignition box. If you have a friend with a working box see if you can borrow it for a few hours to test it out. Also, I have heard stories of these boxes having issues with the rev limiter functions....try turning them off for a pass (just don't launch hard incase you snap a...

    Caltrac Tuning Info LOOK HERE

Just a side note: don't raise the front up too much...Calvert recommends 5" of front suspension travel. If you raise it up too much the car won't transfer weight well.
