I'm not entirely sure where to put this so I'm putting it here

It depends on whether you want it to be correct, or just a horn temporarily for the cruise you’re going to do. If you just want a horn temporarily, then a button would be perfect. However, I think most states require a horn for a car to be legal on the streets.

    Fuse Block messed up

I thought it was just your Georgian accent. LOL @fdharper, have you tested the fuse block with a voltage tester? With the key on the "On" position, one side of each fuse should be hot. The only exception to that I can think of is dash lights. On my 69 Barracuda, the headlight switch is rotated...

Can you really pull a battery cable and the engine still runs?

You guys just pointed out why I have never tried it. It's kind of like, "Why would I want to do that?"

Can you really pull a battery cable and the engine still runs?

I have heard that you can pull a cable off the battery while the engine is running and it will continue running. I don’t remember which cable you pull. I’ve never tried it, but I don’t see how that could work. I seem to remember that it was a way to test your alternator. What do you folks think?

    temp gauge not working

I have a thought on the temp gauge problem. You said that the gauge worked when you grounded the temp sending unit on the top part. That is the same as grounding the wire. The gauge will work when current flows through the gauge to the temp sensor and into the grounded engine. If the gauge works...

1974 Plymouth Duster Electrical Problems when hot

What he said. With the positive cable getting hot, I would lean towards a bad starter. A normal starter will pull around 90-100 amps (if I remember right). When they start going bad internally, they can pull a LOT more, and that will cause the cable to get hot. It's like this. Plug a small fan...

    backup light issue

When you say you have power at the socket, do you mean you checked the wire going into the socket, or did you actually test the bump on the inside of the socket that the bump on the bulb presses against? If you only tested the wire going into the socket, then you need to test to make sure the...

How to Bench Test Wiper Motor?

I wrote a rather detailed 'How To' article on the forum about two years ago on how to rebuild a wiper motor. It included details about bench testing. It was an easy rebuild. I could not tell from the pictures what WW motor you have. Take a look at the article. It might help. Rebuilding a 2 speed...

Need Help With Routing the Wiring for 69 Barracuda Hood Mounted Turn Signals Please

Thanks, @barracudadave67, @junkyardhero and @mbaird. I now know exactly what to do. O hope I can find some of those little plastic clips that hold the wires. It looks like I need several of them. I have two, and they are both broken.

    67 Barracuda Reverse Lights

when a bulb does not come on, it is one of 4 things: 1. The bulb is bad. Test the bulb and/or replace it with a known good one. 2. The switch is bad. Test to see if there is power going into the switch. If there is, then a good switch will allow power to flow through it when placed into reverse...

Need Help With Routing the Wiring for 69 Barracuda Hood Mounted Turn Signals Please

I finally got around to getting the hood mounted turn signals on my 69 Barracuda working. I ran the wires through the hood, but I can't figure out what to do with them after they exit the back of the hood. It looks really weird having two wires just hanging down. If anybody has some hood mounted...

Best Electronic Ignition Setup for a 273

I don't know about 273s, but I can tell you that I put a complete MSD system in my 69 340 (mechanical advance distributor, coil, plug wires and ignition box). It was a huge improvement. The car starts, idles and runs better than before the swap. It was an excellent investment.

02 CJ Beeping when battery is low?????

A widow friend of my wife called me with this question. She has a 2002 jeep CJ. If it matters, it has the 4.0 six, manual transmission and not much of more. Lately, the battery has been draining down, and she has to charge the battery or jumpstart it frequently. She got a new battery for it a...

    Tail light stay on

Sounds more like brake lights. Barring any electrical shorts, if current was being sent to the taillights, I would think you would likely see the front running lights on also.

Has anyone tried making the hole in their radiator housing larger to fit a larger radiator?

When I bought my 69 Barracuda about 33 years ago, it had a pretty good sized radiator in it. I assumed it was a 22" out of a B or E model. It did JUST fit from side to side, but about 1.5-2" of the core was blocked on each side. I stripped the entire car down to bare metal both times I painted...

    Value of the MSD

I totally agree with @Ricks70Duster340 about the ease of changing the advance springs. I have a 69 4 speed Barracuda with a 340 modified to about 375HP. About 5 years ago I bought an entire MS setup (6 Box, distributor, plug wires and coil). The difference was noticeable. Starts up way...

    I need electrical help.

I just saw his comment, Del. I am glad you saw it earlier and issued the warning. Could the fuse box get hot if the fuseable link was bypassed/deleted? I need electrical help.

I agree with what everybody above has said. I would add that you should get a multimeter, if you don't already have one. Don't make any assumptions as you start to run the diagnosis. It could be a bad connection at the Firewall plugs, a bad switch, bad ground, bad bulb/horn, etc. You need to...

    Heater/ AC wiring

For us to be able to help you, we need some information. 1. What is the Make, Model and year of the car. 2. What is the problem?
