Opinions wanted for replacement Rear Spring selection. Thank you

No matter what springs you use, remember, you can always get them arched or de-arched

Another car fire around three miles from my house.

And it's precisely why I try to keep as many Li-ion batteries out of my home as possible.

1974 Plymouth Valiant Scamp - Restoration is a strong word

Do yourself a favor, pull the bulkhead connectors apart (if they'll come apart) and look for melted housings, burnt sockets/pins, etc.

Another car fire around three miles from my house.

I saw that video. The fire extinguisher mandated to be in US elevators wouldn't have helped him one bit.

Manifold Vacuum Advance what am I not getting?

Ah, the new Green Bearing thread...I ain't reading three pages of this, so maybe someone has already posted this, but.... Ah, but you can. Pull the advance canister, the number stamped on the arm is the advance. Either add material to the notch (weld or JB weld) or file the notch to limit or...

    Mystery wire(s) help

The number after the dash is the wire size, and the letters indicate the color. Think: cigar lighter draws a lot of current, so it gets a 16ga wire and is Pink. Glove box light draws almost nothing so it gets a 20ga wire and is also Pink. Seat belt light is Yellow but it's brighter and draws...

I bet it had a Hemi and a factory 5 speed too.

    The Mythical 7 Cylinder V8

I watched some racers put a hose clamp on a journal to stem the oil flow, THROUGH the new window in the block, once, so they could finish the race. It was on TV, but I still saw it.

Blowing #4 Fuse/ No Tail lights, Cluster, Parking Lights, License Plate light

"The harness is good". How, exactly do you know this? In my car, it was the brake light shorted through at the bulkhead connector.

    Sixpack on a 318 engine ?

This. There's no fundamental difference beyond an AVS or Thermoquad. You might not use all of the six pack, but it'll run!

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

'Twas why I said I would never. Notice...I didn't said 'never have' :p

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

I would NEVER go buy the really really thick grey teflon tape and wrap it like ten times when you're only supposed to go five....

    A blessing or a curse?

I used to play auto parts' store games. Crank sensor on Neon....lifetime warranty....replace annually Or OEM Mopar....20 year lifespan. FYI NGK sells many high-quality US and Japanese made sensors under a sister brand....NTK. I'm pretty sure they were an OEM supplier for Chrysler at some point.

    how do people make money?

That isn't card theft. Thieves aren't getting rich selling diesel jugs for under $20 when you can find 'em on the side of the highway. Card theft guys are buying TV's and Apple stuff and gold bullion off eBay. Porch piracy maybe, but the guy is good, three-day shipping a jug that invoiced out...

    how do people make money?

The seller has a VPN, and his location is Vietnam, he's right here in the US. My guess is, that's direct shipped from AZ, since the receipt is dated yesterday. I see no proof that it's stolen. Edited to add: is that your discover card number on the receipt? Some sellers will offer prices...

How much would you pay for a product made in the US vs China

...is the same, that the manufacturing is the same, and even if the product is the same, you're still undercutting all the other US-based suppliers (*assuming that this is truly an apples n' oranges comparison). Material might be the same, but everybody from the guy at the quarry digging up ore...

Contest time! Guess the ET and MPH to win!

Really? I figured you'd see wider variations with the scoop. That's nuts. I figured the scoop would add variables of wind speed, cross winds, external temperature fluctuations etc. Some things, I never would have guessed.

Contest time! Guess the ET and MPH to win!

I am extremely curious to see what the scoop was worth... I would think the change in leaving the line would be more of a weight distribution thing, especially with a car as dialed in as that, but I really don't know.

Contest time! Guess the ET and MPH to win!

I just know if I had a car like that, arrests would be made. Trying to hold that back for some blinky light....not in my skillset.

tree house build and lag screw strength

My assumption, and I knew I shouldn't have done it, was that the 'floor' would decent gaps to at least let out rainwater, similar to any other deck (and to save a few pounds). I did NOT think about OP living in Michigan... OP, build the floor at a 45 degree angle to the earth to allow the...

    Unsticking an unused engine........

Jeff, I'm in KC and am familiar with the conditions the car sat in. Lots of condensation. I have a 5.9 in the garage that sat in a very similar environment for a decade, and I'm curious if it'll spin. Rather than pull the heads, I'd like to suggest pulling the oil pan and levering directly on...

tree house build and lag screw strength

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for massive factors of safety, but think about it like this: You're going to have maybe two adults and a kid up there, maybe three adults at most. Let's say they're all chubby, 250lbs ea. And the structure itself might weigh 1000 lbs (are you planning on windows and...
