My plans for my 69 Dart Swinger 340

Avoid SS leaf springs if not a drag car, as the SS leafs are not equal construction left and right and therefore not symmetrical. Additionally, avoid Mancini leaf springs as one of the two SS leaf springs I bought from them the main leaf arched the wrong way the last 4 inches. When I raised...

    Bumper bracket questions

1973 Dart Sports had standard brackets front & rear. '72 & earlier brackets & bumpers are different - (i.e.: Demon - straight bumper) Most 1974 Dart Sports had standard front brackets too. 1974 was a "transitional" year so results may vary. 1973 & earlier take the same brackets & bumpers. '73...

Early ABody Steering Wheel Splines Have an Index?

It always bugs me if when driving straight down the highway the steering wheel is not centered. I know in the photo my steering wheel is aftermarket, but my question is if the factory '64 - '65 steering wheel only fits one way (with one different spline/space) or can the wheel be slid on at any...

    Odd ignition and electrical problem

An update; I found a burned wire in the harness behind the dash , all the insulation is melted off. It's black , and a fairly large gauge so I'm pretty sure this is the culprit. Prior to that , I unwrapped a good portion of the under hood wire , all that was okay.

    .480/230 cam in an 8.5 CR 360?

I don't disagree with any of your points. That said, the fact is, we could pick apart one of your builds and point to where you could get more power. You always leave something on the table with every single build. I'm not advocating inefficient builds here, I'm simply saying there's nothing...

    Doug's D453-ss

Yes, same modification, 15 min kinda thing if your handy with a welder. Be sure to "clock" it right when rewelding. Good choice. They often go on sale at AutoZone, partic at Xmas, other retailers are known to price match . Summit

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

If I was buying new aluminum heads, I would buy the Bloomer heads and not twice. They are better than anything else out there, in a production style head and have proven to make more power than the Trick flows or anything else. By a good bit. They come ready to bolt on, and will support pretty...

    Sure grip housing... send it?

I think if that chip is the worst of it, I'd knock the sharp edges off with a file and set it back up and run it. Of course, as already mentioned, there are no guarantees.

    Sure grip housing... send it?

Wasn't much to say with that chunk missing outta the pinion, sorry to say, I wouldn't run that for fear of messing anything else up if/when something else goes awry. If I had to run it. It'd be with the expectation of more carnage . Good luck.

I found the pinion gear has some wear, including this worst part (see previous post above with latest photos). The thread for this post kind of ran it's course so was trying to bring attention to this. I'm hoping I can just go with it. The ring gear looks great. To everyone who replied, thanks...

Getting started to work on my 1974 Dart Sport. I got questions

Cool car! I don't have many better suggestions than what you've been getting but I do have some questions that may influence what you do with it. * Is it a 318 or 360 car? I bought an OEM functional hood and scoop combo once off of what was surprisingly, a 318 car. If yours is a 1974 with a...

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

Brian IMM is on here and I’m surprised he didn’t get back to you. I Dont know him personally but have friends that do and they are very satisfied. The Bloomer heads are the new kid on the block and are a great head developed by two brothers that do fantastic work. They are cnc’d by a well known...
