I went with the 545RFE. Wasn't $350 ( good find BTW ) but it was 26K miles and was able to get starter, flex plate, TC for about $650. If I had to do this again I would get it from a jeep along with the shifter and ECU. This way I could have an autostick setup.
Right now its getting prepped to make its way to media blasting then it's going to get a few subtle body mods. Orange candy paint, 20's on the rear, 18's in front and a 5.7 Hemi. Hope to have motor in car before snow flies.
People these days are a pain in the rear. If you buy a used car part then you take the chance of it being defective! From this day forward I will always sell things with a bill of sale stating that its ASIS and the risk lies within the buyers hands! whatever happen to the days when people...
I will most likely narrow my 8-1/4 myself. Luckelly for me I work at a machine shop! I believe I will just order premade axles but once I get it appart the machinest can see if we have tools to re-spline the axles. Look forward to being at that point of this project.
Got my Hotwire harness today!!! Actually got to meet them at the nats and see the harnesses so the surprise was kinda ruined but it's still cooler to have it in my hands! Look forward to seeing how it all plugs in and fits. Was very surprised to find out that it came with the relays and a nice...
I have a question about axles. If you are going to narrow the housing do you need to find an axle and narrow to that width or can the axles come in or be modified to any length? Does that question make sense?
I am going to run TTI mounts and stock K for right now just so I can get all the parts in the car and tested. K-Frame design will begin once I hear it purr and the winter time is upon us.
For the time being I will just design enough adjustment in my trans Cross member so I dont end up building a...
I don't really think I am worried about gettin valve covers off with motor in. If I need access I figure I will just do like my transam that I had and loosen mounts and rock or jack up engine. I am not a big fan of the notches.
I agree about getting exacts.. the 6,5 BS is a good start and can fill in a column on the spreadsheet for a start.
looks like the wheels i want don't come in 18"; only 20x10 and 20x8.5. Well that could be interesting. I was really wanting the 18/20 look maybe it will be 20/20. My trip to the...
As of now I have the stock Duster rear, Was leaning towards a explorer rear end but I need to get dimensions for both. Thats sort of the reason why I started this post. Thought there might be a few guys that could have an input on rearends and what not.
