    Shift Linkage Interchange from a 65 Slant Six/904 to a 66 273/904

I'm doing the swap from a Slant 6 to a 273. Does anyone know what shift linkage will work on the car? The car is a 65 Valiant column shift car. I have a 66 273 with the V8 904 to install in the car that currently has a Slant Six 904 and associated linkage installed. Thanks

[WANTED] Early 273 A Body V8 Center link 65 Valiant

Hello All, Looking for a V8 Centerlink that will fit a 65 Valiant. I'm swapping a Slant 6 to a 273/904 and need a center link that will fit. Thanks in Advance

It's no wonder the Slant 6 is so great!

The only thing I can think of that makes a slant 6 any good, is the cost of a car equipped with one compared to a v8 car. You can get slant 6 cars cheap. That’s a plus right?

Leaf springs flat - 69 Barracuda

I think he's referring to what was done to his specific car before he purchased it. Not Barracudas' in general.

Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

Rick Ehrenberg once stated that the factory defaulted to the V8 version at some point. I don't recall if it was for production cars or replacements through the Parts Division. Why not? The V8 Center Link fits everything, the slant six version only fits slant six.

    1965 valiant 225 timing issues.

First, you might want to remove the timing tab, clean it, and paint it to highlight the marks. Makes things a lot easier. Is this a slant six or V8?

Slant six to small block 340-360 engine won't fit.

pass side slant to v8 conversion is truck mount bracket IIRC. Or really close in dimension https://www.engine-swaps.com/products/67-72-a-body-s6-to-273-318-or-340-360-conversion-kit Unless he put a V8 K frame in the car, that looks like the correct engine bracket for the slanty K

Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

Someone show him a picture of the slant and the V8 drag links he may already have a V8 drag link because he has a 64 and the V8 was an option, I wouldn't doubt some 64-66 slants came with V8 drag links.

    NOT Mine - In Denver 1970 A100 with 225/727 with an 8 3/4 3:90 suregrip

A 727 behind a slant six with an 8 3/4 with 3:90 gears stock that all by itself is bad ***. He has all the V8 Mounts to go with it too.

    Finally!

That looks really nice!! I like the color. Are you putting the slant back in or moving up to a V8? Either way, I’m watching this thread!!

Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

Yep. The top one was off of my '66 Dart (slant six). Even the non-V8 versions have a bit of a drop to them.

1971 Swinger 318, conversion to a 6cyl/special motor mounts needed

There are no "special motor mounts" for a V8 to slant 6 swap. Only if you're doing the opposite. On a '72 K frame (applies to '67-'72), the left (driver's side) K frame mount is the same whether slant 6 or V8, so that side will bolt up with stock factory slant mount brackets of the correct year...

    Random pictures thread

And yet Chrysler Australia had the 265 cube straight six bigger displacement but lighter the next size up from the GM 253 was a 308 then the 350 and for only a couple of years the 327. Chrysler after the 225 slant had the 245 cube straight 6 then they introduced the 215 low compression base...

63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

You have an awesome Dart;) You know, I really tried going with the idea of a V8 and wasted too much time on it. The slant six that I do have is in the machine shop as we speak, a good overhaul, with an increase in compression(9:1) along with the Super six intake and modded cam (thanks to...

    Ultimate swap confirmation

Hi all As you already know, the gearbox swap is scheduled on tuesday, Sept.17th at a professional mechanic shop. Yesterday, I found this affirmation from a guy on another Mopar forum : "If your using a clutch linkage set up, make sure to get a Z bar from a V8 car. The slant sixes have a...

  24. abodyjoe

Who else ever felt this way?

i never disputed that. but for the work and gear to do it is more then a bigger cube V8. plus the six just doesn't have the sound of a V8.

    '65 Valiant Drive by Cable

Just get the '64-'66 V8 A body cable linkage, bolts right in. Only the slant 6 used the mechanical pivot rod linkage. The later linkage can be made to work, too- but it's not a bolt in.

[WANTED] Need stock 318 flywheel for 70 dart

122T is for early V8 in the narrow body cars with the small bellhousing (and slant six, different bolt pattern tho). 130T is for all the other V8 apps with the caveat: they are available as neutral/external balance and 6/8 bolt flange (this is greatly simplifying things, but you get the gist...

1971 Swinger 318, conversion to a 6cyl/special motor mounts needed

Having work for Chrysler for 14 yrs starting in 1974, I have a decent amount of knowledge as to what fits what, interchanges, etc. I'd picked up a 1986 AT trans for this project and overhauled it, so should be ok there. Now, after having done the dastardly deed of removing the R frame mount ...

    Slant 6 to 318 conversion...

Hi guys I envisage the possibility to swap my slant-6 to a 318, but want to keep my A-230 3-speed gearbox. A non-irreversible swap as I would use a Schumacher (or Trans-dapt) L6/318 conversion kit on my original K-member. Is my slant-6 clutch compatible with the V8? And what's the bellhousing...

Photos of V8 power steering hose setup?

Hi guys and gals, I'm trying to replace some bad power steering hoses on my wife's "new" 1975 Dart Sport. It was originally a slant 6 but was swapped to a 340 with a Saginaw pump. No matter which site I look at, I'm seeing hoses with a fairly straight section on the pump end, and hers is more...
