When you take the end "shoes" off the pin, there may be a number of selective shim washers each side, keep track of where they go. Thats how the trunion is centered. The pin may not be centered, thats where the shims come in. P.S. They ran Ball and Trunion behind Max Wedges too Good luck

4 bbl, 3/4 race cam, 4:11 gears and headers . Headers have long been the most cost effective way to gain horsepower. When headers became popular, advertising would have you believe 10 - 15 % (%) h/p gain, 10% with exhaust hooked up, 15% with them opened up. iirc.

I also think that's normal. It's not a wear surface.

It would also be prudent to use a carb known good, off a car that runs really good, as opposed to one you picked up at a swap meet, and/or sat on a shelf for years, "just for this engine build". A lean carb either side, may cause unwanted heat .

Supplying a known good ground is the first step in a process of elimination. Being an aftermarket wiring harness, there's a lotta variables, including who installed it. By your description of both elements on dim is a very common no ground symptom. Your dash indicator lites should be on dim as well.

Plug the exhaust to create back-pressure, hold cloths over the tailpipes, apply pressure, listen for leaks, - not rocket science.

Dana hit it right on the head, vise-grip one end of a length of wire to the neg battery post, touch the other bare end to the actual metal bulb base, lites should work as normal. With a poor/no ground at the bulb, the power comes to one filament of the bulb, but with no ground, - power goes up...

To check for exhaust leaks, stuff the tailpipe with shop-cloths, and have someone wearing gloves hold the cloths in ( as best possible ) while you start and run the engine. Quickly walk one side of vehicle to other, exhaust leaks will be very evident, and those tailpipe cloths will be getting...

I take mine to an industrial hydraulic hose maker. They make/repair hoses fo bulldozers, tractors etc. Eastman? iirc Take it in one piece so they can get all the bends and angles correct.

I'd be checking to see if the front calipers are seized. The plastic piston calipers have a chronic problem seizing. Pry the piston/pads away from disc, if it'll move, then pump to see if it'll re-apply . Process of elimination, prove caliper not seized, and m/c operation. Good luck .
