Fuel pressure problem..I'm at a loss.

Its fine under WOT, its about an 1/8 down the road after you get out of the throttle when it has a problem.

Fuel pressure problem..I'm at a loss.

It is possible, With the right pump. On the engine masters show Freiburger just made over 1000 hp on a BBC with a tunnel ram and two 4s naturally aspirated, all fed by a mechanical pump.

Fuel Regulator before or after the Carburetor

Two regulators won’t fix the problem. The problem is the horrible design of that regulator. It’s horrible. The basic design is the same as the poorly designed regulator Holley sold all through the 7o’s, 80’s and 90’s. All they did was add a boost/vacuum reference port. Technically you could...

[FOR TRADE] I'm thinking of possibly trading my 65 Dodge dart GT blown 440 for a A body or b-body four-speed.

I don't know what kind of horsepower it makes because the engine hasn't seen any boost with the blower because of the 30 over pistons makes it high compression and I didn't want to blow it up. So after adding the EDIS ignition system with the mega jolt controller, I have control some over the...

    oiling timing chain

Being it be was an option for police cruiser (other fleet service) engines, most likely the extended/extreme amount of idling the engines were subjected to had something to do with the setup being created. The fleet maintenance shops experiencing timing chain issues and Chrysler developed this fix.

    3/8 vs 5/16 fuel lines

    Even 1970 x 440 B body cars, with a vent canister and a 1/4" return line, only have a 5/16 fuel line.

    Mission Creep on a D-150

...pump and the fuel level meter then matched ohms with the instrument cluster. The fuel tank was a bolt in, I did add a support to the very front of it. I am still running a carb in the D150 so had to add a fuel return line and a by pass regulator to cut the fuel pressure from 45 to 6 for the carb.

Holley retro drop in fuel pump

I had Tanks inc in Iowa I believe, they built my 66 Barracuda tank with the Bosch pump for my FI Tech injection. I used a 3/8” fuel line for the primary and a 5/16 stock line return; both from inline tube Intank pumps are great BUT they take up a lot of fuel room. Plus the baffles . I bet I am...

How to block off fuel return line in Classic Industries Fuel Sending Unit.

Hello Mopar experts, I’m reinstalling a Classic Industries fuel sending unit with a 3/8 fuel line and a either 5/16” or 1/4” return line. I am running a carb and do not need the return line and therefore I would like to plug it. (See attached picture) I used a rubber vacuum plug as a temporary...

Another "Is Fuel Injection a Worthwhile Upgrade?" Question

@goldduster318 Given I know nothing about the aftermarket systems and set up, pit falls & nuance’s, why is a regulator after everything in the return line? *I Thought* the regulator was before throttle body. And the return line was free flowing into the fuel tank.

Fuel pressure dropping while driving and under acceleration to zero at idle runs 4 lb electric Blue

You will make it much easier for the pump to maintain pressure if you reduce any length/restriction on the suction side. As others have said, ideally the pump could be behind the tank and below it but not many would want the pump hanging low exposed to curbs/aprons/etc. So you mount it to try...

    Turbo six on a Budget

Ok I had that general idea down. My plan now is to mount the pump right outside of the tank and then use the hardline up to the front to my regulator. Is the return line important in this setup?

Flip fuel cap on Duster need to be vented?

...revisions to make in my fuel system.... I have the 1/4” line on the passenger inner fender under the hood and believed it was a fuel return line and plumbed it as such with a fuel filter that has the third orificed nipple on it. I knew the evap thing was missing but hmmm... now what... I...

...the carb. Was running reasonable. Shut it off and restarted it 4 or 5 times. The engine seemed pretty hot and after about 30 minutes I shut it off and would not restart. I look into that tomorrow. Check cooling. I'll check the fuel return line and regulator. I don't think it was vapor lock...

    fuel pressure regulator

My dart has had a few symptoms and according to Google and the forums they can all be due to changes in fuel pressure so I am thinking of adding a regulator. I currently have a gauge that reads 5.4 psi at idle in park. I am running a stock style mechanical fuel pump on a 360 feeding a holley...

EFI fuel pump and regulator with carburetor ?

I would recommend you getting a return line the same size as the fuel supply line, that will help keep the pump from becoming angry

    Intake manifold choices

Yes. The Mallory is noted as being no longer available from the two retailers I found that had it listed. I have a Holley 12-887 on my 'list-of-stuff' for a return line if that ends up being the direction this is headed. That part would fit my real estate situation better. All of this has...

Fuel pressure problem..I'm at a loss.

Couple thoughts. I hate dead head regulators. They never seem to work perfectly and are constantly suspect. I would do as @pishta says and run it without the cap as a test. Then, get rid of the regulator completely and run the mechanical pump straight to the carb. That pump is rated at 7psi max...

    The EFI myth

Look up Thunderhead289 on YouTube, he's a super smart carb wizard with an engineering background and he has some excellent tips and mods to keep carb'd vehicles running reliably and trouble-free on modern gas (he did the lawnmower carb on a 302 experiment). One of the big ones involves...
