    1965 A 904 clutch pack clearance

True of the forward clutch not the rear clutch.. Still it's better to be in the middle of the range than the tight end of the range....

    1965 A 904 clutch pack clearance

Just know that your far better off to set the clutch pack clearance in the middle of the range than on the tight end.... When set to the tight end the clutches drag creating heat which leads to premature failure... Also it reduces the time needed to apply clutches so you get shift overlap...

    Flywheel service limitations.

Nice catch! I didn't look that close, saw the surface and knew it should be machined

    Flywheel service limitations.

FWIW if you throw it in with just a light sanding and it chatters you either live with the chatter or it all comes apart.. My local shop charges $45 to surface a flywheel... My labor to R&R a trans is worth a lot more than the cost to surface a flywheel...

Which clutch is best, Borg and Beck or diaphragm?

I'm running a McLeod Super Street Pro... It's a Diaphragm, the disc is half Organic & half ceramic... I was concerned about the ceramic being "grabby" but it's actually very smooth if driven normal but if you dump it there's no slipping, it bites & launches.... Rated at 500 ft/lbs of torque my...

Not a lot of info to attempt a guess.... Two door? Or four door? FWIW in 65 Ford built about 60,000 four dr wagons.... And less than 5,000 two dr wagons.... Which I happen to own one of....

Where to buy quality fiberglass hood?

From the thread linked above... When you pay $1200 for an AAR hood, you expect more from Stinger Fiberglass Go to post 124... Some like him, some don't but in my experiences Hemirunner knows good parts from junk... He mentions two companies in the Chicago area that both in his opinion make...

Muscle Cars At The Strip Las Vegas

I agree with this... Only reason I've been to MATS as often as I have is I have a business client with a facility just off Craig Road near "The Cannery" I've been able to adjust the timing of my visits to match up with MATS six times... Plus I attended twice on my own, once I took my car &...

When a new acquisition turns out better than you thought.....

When a new acquisition turns out better than you thought.....

Your Charger in spite of the cam does have 500 CI & makes a lot more torque... 3:23 would work but I bet 3:55 would give better fuel economy & be more fun

When a new acquisition turns out better than you thought.....

    I wouldn't run 3.23's with a 42RH At least 3:55's.... 3:55's is a 2:45 in O/D

What are the most likely Donor vehicles for the A 500 4 speed automatic?

Floor shifter just needs a little fabricating to work.. Girth? They fit in an E body or a 71-72 B body without cutting the body... I doubt that's true on an A body but it's not that big of a deal... I wouldn't want to cut on a real 340 car but 318 or slant 6... Let the fun begin....

    WTF Front Brakes?!?

I fully agree, Not saying the guy who welded these control arms was a good welder... But I am saying it 100% can be done.... I'd like to say only a skilled welder would attempt to weld something as critical as control arms... But unfortunately experience has proven that not to be true...

    WTF Front Brakes?!?

Back in the early days welding B body large ball joint ends on A body arms was common amongst SCCA types... But starting in 73 the large ball joint arms for A bodies made that unnecessary.. And people who don't trust welds get pretty freaked out by it...
