We've Lost Leanna Lynn Johnson (cudachick1968)

Is she the one who was originally from Moline IL? That's my home town and I chatted with someone about the place. Never had anything done by her but kept the info in my mind because one of these days...

    Original tire size 68 Valiant

I've got a couple of parts cars so I have the wheels, but sitting here thinking about it, the last guy put Scarebird discs on the front and I'm wondering if the 13" wheel will fit over the caliper. By the way thanks for the mymopar link. I hadn't heard of it before and I looked around, cool...

    Original tire size 68 Valiant

Thanks guys. Someone put rally wheels on this car but I'm going back to 13" once I can get a set of wheels painted.

    Original tire size 68 Valiant

Hi everyone Can someone tell me what the original tire size on a 68 Valiant crosses to in today's tire language? This is a Slant 6 Valiant 100, originally had 650x13. Also, what tire in 14" would be the same overall size? Thanks everyone.

    Slant 6 Oil Pan

Thanks Aaron, very informative and interesting. Regardless of what chassis the engine is going into, will any pan physically bolt up to any block? Also, does the oil pickup come down the same place on every block or do they vary depending on where the sump is supposed to be?

    Slant 6 Oil Pan

Good morning everyone. Couple questions about a Slant 6 oil pan. Will they all interchange? Is there anything different about the oil pan on a 4 wheel drive truck than a car? I may have some mixing and matching going on. Thanks everyone.

    Lastest thoughts on Dodge Charger

Good morning everyone. Got my eye on a '22 Dodge Charger. It's a V6, 8 speed automatic, Blacktop version(never heard of that), 68K miles. F8 Green. One owner private vehicle. Probably traded in on an Accord. What do people think about these cars these days? Is there anything inherently...

    Georgia doesn’t disappoint

Well, maybe it was the end of the road for the Duster and someone was sitting around thinking, what can I do to it instead of junking it?

    Buying from afar

When I bought my Imperial several states away, I hired a guy to ship it to me, and I flew up and met the guy with cash, and was there when the transporter arrived and helped him load. Then I flew home. I realize not everyone wants to fly with a bunch of cash on them. If you bank with a...

    landlord 101

My one time having tenants, a few weeks after they moved out(and left the place a mess) a guy called for a reference. I thought, what can I say here to get myself in trouble? So I just stuck to verifiable facts. They were late with the rent every month. I was still getting their bills in the...

    Banned from Facebook!!!!! Rant!

Someone hacked into my account and changed the password so I couldn't get in. FB makes it very hard to communicate with them, and the best I got out of them was, just set up a new account. But when I did I got banned because the rules say you can't have two accounts! They are the ones who...

    landlord 101

I had a rental house for 6 months. I bought a new house and figured I'd "clean up" renting the old place. I cleaned up alright. They trashed the house and when they moved out I sold it. I could completely rebuild the place every 6 months. A friend of mine has multiple rentals and has for...

Home Again, Home Again, All the Way Home!!!

Sounds like an excellent trip! I tried driving Route 66 from Chicago to California in the 90s. The route was very well marked all the way through Illinois but was tough going after I got into Missouri. I abandoned my plans and just took the interstate the rest of the way. I suppose it would...

Who else has a TShirt addiction?

A Tshirt is usually my souvenir for whatever event I'm at. I have hundreds of shirts, really only a couple I won't wear due to be irreplaceable. I figure if one gets trashed I'll replace it at the next event I go to.

    Big Boy 4014 back!

There's a Big Boy (4005) on display in Denver at the Fornay Museum. They are quite the machines. I haven't spent any appreciable time in California in many years, but would love to go see the Big Boy run.

    Removing roof

Thanks guys. This car is just an old beater and I wanted to have some fun with it before it went to Valiant heaven. I may reconsider because I don't want to put a lot of work into something that will quickly become scrap. I want the doors to work because I'm too fat to jump over the side...

    Removing roof

Hi everyone. I'm considering cutting off the roof of a 67 Valiant 2 door. The car isn't worth very much and I thought it would be a hoot to make my own convertible out of it. My question is, where can I brace/strengthen/weld so I can still open and close the doors? Thanks everyone.

Go to your local Dodge dealer and get the STAR report. It will tell you exactly what your van was built with. I have the exact same van as you and I went to the parts department, didn't cost me a thing.

    U-Haul car trailer experience?

One thing to remember, and I know this doesn't apply to the original poster, but a big overhang is going to adversely affect towing. When I towed my Dodge Maxi van the wheels were placed the same as this Newport, no room to spare, and the back end of the van hanging out there was like the tail...

    U-Haul car trailer experience?

Nothing says you can't put more straps on the car once it's loaded. I don't always like the front straps only. And absolutely go to Uhaul's website and use their decoder to see if what you want to tow will work. You'll be in a jam if you get there and they say sorry you can't rent because...
