Eh, it’s definitely a safer way to strip some paint. Compared to a 4 1/2 grinder with a paint attachment it’s probably faster and easier. Compared to a 7/9” grinder with a sanding disk it’s substantially slower, but also substantially less risky.

If the oil is getting to the fasteners, you are asking for leaks.
