Slant 6 power steering pump on smallblock? will it work?

Hey Tom, thanks for the info...I do have the v8 brackets for the ps pump, so it should work then...if i understand you correctly, the alternator from my 6cyl will only work with the v8 bracket, or it will not work with the v8 bracket? (it would be a shame because the slant 6 i had came with a...

    Super Six: Complete Set-up

You needn't pay to buy and ship an exhaust manifold. There is no difference between exhaust manifolds used with the 2bbl setup and those used with the 1bbl setup. The runners and outlet are identically sized. The differences in exhaust manifold configuration are according to production year, not...

    66,V8 gas peddle assembly

Dartman,I have a slant 6 with a clifford intake, headders, holley 4 bbl.with dual exhaust,It has the lokar throttle and kickdown cable.(and gas peddle)Po put this all on and never had it setup properly. What a mess,so I,m trying to figure it out?Might be easier just to swap to a V8 throttle from a...

    So Hypothetically.....(318 swap)

    1. Stock 273 mounts will work fine since the slants and the V8s used the same K member until '67. 2. A slant transmission will not bolt to a V8 because the block pattern is different. You will need a V8 transmission. Fortunately, the powertrain length is the same so you will not have to cut...

    /6 swap to 360 questions???

yep he beat me to it... the 904 trans from the slant will not work. I swapped a 360 in place of my slant, however, I used a V8 k-member. I used a original v-8 throttle cable from a Duster. Trans kick down is all done by Lokar kick down cable. The 318 power steering set up should work just...

    Dart Gas Pedal Assemble

if its a track car im assuming its a v8. i ask because the slant six is a rod and the v8 is a cable. im converting my valiant to a cable using a lokar throttle cable and universal gas pedal, im even using the lokar kickdown cable to keep everything the same. the nice thing about this setup is...

    throttle cables

You can buy a new cable from the Dodge dealer. It used to be sold as "small block V8 a-body" but now is called "Hemi throttle cable" for some reason. Regardless, it's cheap (~ $30) and it works perfectly. PN is P4529112. :)

Slant 6 power steering pump on smallblock? will it work?

mshred: If the car is the one in your avitar, the pump itself should work, but you have to get the brackets off a V8 car. I don't think any of the pulleys will work, other than the p.s. pump. The alternator is the same. I suggest that you find a small block V8 car at the junkyard...

    Engine swap advice

I know its kinda late to post, but you can still use your pushbutton transmssion shifter with the 904 tranny bolted to your 318. BUT, you will have to swap all the internal parts of your /6 TF904 into a different case made for 64-66 v8 273/TF904 combos. This allows the use of the 2 cable shifter...

    Intake issues with A/C V8

Has anyone used a aftermarket intake with a 273 equipt with A/C? Mine has swirl port heads, so later sytle intakes will work. I thought that a Performer intake would do the trick, but I have found 2 issues. 1) The thermostat housing bolts at an angle unlike the factory intake. This would...

    63 valiant throttle linkage.

All early A bodies used the linkage throttle for slants and a cable for V8s. You will need a cable throttle assembly from a '64-'66 V8 (knew they had to be good for something) if you want to keep your current floor mounted gas pedal. Got mine off the Bag for less than $20. If you can, get the...

    bye slant six, hello 318

Having the correct K-member is good although adapter mount kits can be had. Depending on motor mount type you may still need them (dunno). Throttle cable, kick down linkage, speedo gear, radiater to water pump connections, oil pan type, right angle oil filter adapter, are just some of the...

    V8 Gas Peddles

    throttle linkage question

Has anyone here used the stock throttle rods for a /6-V8 conversion? Does anyone have a picture of the throttle linkage for a slant 6 early A? This weekends project ( if my parts are all here by then)

I've heard a lot people say they just loop the 1bbl throttle cable instead of switching to the V8 (super six) cable. I switched to a V8 cable anyway — they aren't expensive or hard to find. I didn't want to risk the cable binding.

    Goin V-8

Center link for a V8. Throttle cable. 45degree oil filter adapter. And a few other odds and ends. Trans tunnel will need work for the 727, along with cutting down the driveshaft. If you have the 7 1/4 rear that will die with rough treatment quick.
