    [FOR SALE] 70 Dart , 340 4 speed :

I've listed on Egay , but wanted to give a heads-up here . See all the details there but wanted to add : I have a nice original 70 shifter and linkage and a perfect , rust free (just needs wrinkle finish) 340 air cleaner that would go with the car IF I can get at least 4900.00 for the car (not...

    Flywheel question with pics

I couldn't pass on this even if it's wrong - picked it up for cheap (45 bucks). I'm new to the 4 speed scene and was told this is for an internally balanced 340 (I have a 70) ... I see it appears neutral balanced - was I told correctly ? When resurfaced, if it checks out neutral , it's a bolt on...

    727 mystery part

Was replacing the gasket - found this mangled ball bearing (?). Only drove the car once a short distance before resto started, didn't notice an issue, shifter a little sloppy, that's about it. Appears trans was rebuilt not long ago as fresh RTV all around ..........

    LCA's and ball joints - 73 B body

Posting here 'cause there's more eyes .... this is regarding my 73 Roadrunner. Wow - wish I'd done more research, everything I read up to today said lower ball joints were press fit. My replacements I ordered are press fit. Anyway , gave my LCA's to a buddy who had press access - he did a great...

Before I reinstall - is it possible to do a visual inspection of the tranny and identify condition ? It seemed fine the few times I drove it before resto started , just be nice to know all appears well .............

    Engine painting

This engine's been completely degreased - I'm concerned about remnants of the old paint but ain't sure best way to strip - I'll be removing the intake, exhaust mans, valve covers, maybe oil pan but it ain't leaking now so.......... anyway, any tips ? Good quality paint ? Best exhaust manifold...

    Suspension detailing/restoring

I got all my asst parts blasted and I need to paint. Not a trailer queen, what do you guys recommend for paint ? What about parts that are supposed to be "natural" steel - is there a good (durable) cast look paint or should I bother ? Clearcoats ? Thanks.

    Bushing preference LCA, UCA

Are the replacement poly bushings for upper/lower control arms decent for a non-daily driven car ? I am referring to the bushings wherein you replace the rubber only and re-use the shells/outer liners. Obviously they've sold thousands but I've not used them , always had an old-school mechanic...

    40 years 'o crud

With the engine out - I need to start prepping the bay but need to clean up suspension/K frame, etc while here. It's thick build-up of grime - like 1/4 inch in areas. Someone said I needed a "truck pressure wash", I'm thinking about using one of those sandblast/pressure washer attachments. Oven...

Waste of a good short block ?

Just pulled the 340 from a 73 Roadrunner I bought (I know it's a B body, but there's more advice here) ..... anyway, I knew the 73 motor was a wheezer but, lo and behold, I got a '70 block (and hoping internals) , but rest of the assembly (727, heads, exhaust man., intake man., all 73 correct)...

    12 layers of product .....

Like tree rings ...... count the layers of primer / paint , I count 12 if you count at least the top layer of clear ...... always black except the last paint was black with blue metallic. Gotta go to bare metal to get the whole story !

    Carb issue :

Here's the deal - carb is near new, car sat awhile but ran fine when started every couple of months. I know there could be crap in the system BUT .... the attached pic is my issue - float "valves" are not dropping (opening) to allow fuel in, I can tap or coax them to drop, allowing fuel flow...

    Move this pig ! 340 B body ....

I still have my 70 340 Swinger - but couldn't pass a deal on a 73 Roadrunner - all original 340 car, bone stock except for an Edelbrock 750. Being heavier - and "neutered" in 73 - it's a dog compared to the Dart. I would do a 440 swap, but it's a 95,000 mile original so .... what can I do to get...

    1970 Radio delete question ...

70 340 Swinger -rally dash - car was radio delete but former owner hacked up and installed a stereo. I have not been able to find pics of this dash w/radio delete option. They're still out there -

But I never thought I'd bring one home ! So...

    70 rally dash question

And one more question - regarding dash frame - don't have it dismantled yet but it was a radio delete car and some prior Bozo hacked the dash AND the plastic trim real good. I might be able to patch dash from donor, but if not - are standard and rally dash frames different ? Also - are rally...

    What are they worth ........

I was given a 72 Swinger and will be parting out soon after I get a few things off for myself. It has a set of 4" to 4 1/2" wheel adapters on it. What would these be worth OR - since I may go to 15" wheels on my 70 - are they safe to use and how do they effect offset/fitment issues ? I know 4"...

    90 degree adapter question

So I'm eliminating the adapter - from what I understand I will be removing the threaded filter retainer (circled in "sublime" below:) and this will thread through plate and into block - correct ? I gave it a shot this weekend (!" socket) and couldn't budge it, but wasn't "serious" at the...

    90 degree adapter leak

This is the second time I'll be re-seating it on the 340 - not sure what gives. right now it leaks right at startup (cold) then it'll back off when engines warmed up - not pretty on my ceramic headers. Any tips/tricks for this time around and/or is there a shorty style filter that'll get in...

    motor mounts question

So my old 67 had the biscuit style mounts (as I assume they all did) My guess is these did a better job of isolating vibration (rubber) verses the 73 style mounts I have in my car now, which as you know, are solid. Are there any mounts that provide good/better vibration isolation ? With the...
