'65 Dart GT resto project, pwr. train completed

I've taken an Original owner and completely restored the power train to the tens a couple of years ago and stopped at paint. It's from San Jose, CA and the body is perfect. It needs paint and the interior redone. I have about $8,000. into what has to be the most obsessively perfect power train...

'65 273 needs vented valve cover cap

I have completely rebuilt the original 2 bbl. to exact 4bbl commando specs and was ready to move on to resto-attack the body/paint/interior and was going to have my vented perfect shape black vented cap sent to be chromed and it disappeared three days ago. I'm furious, I've looked around my shop...

    5 decent 14" 67 (or 68) Coronet hubcaps

I bought them on E-bay 6/11/09 from autonutsareus vintage parts store only a few weeks into my total '65 GT resto. began. My first upgrade purchase (a full '65 cuda rotor system) was exciting and I found out quick that the original 13" wheels had to go. Fortunately I scored five 14" small bolt...

65 GT vinyl top colors offered?

I'm getting ready to do the complete body resto. on my great score from the original owner of a (color code, Lt. biege) GT. I've seen old promotional material that always show a black vinyl on the front 3/4 roof between the GT 'cage' trim. What were the choices offered then to be concourse...

Want the best dual exhaust known for my ''65 GT Commando

I really did spend hours and PM'd a couple of great mopar wizards but they both responded exactly as I've found myself feeling with that dead end not easy or common setup. At least 95% of the hundreds of exhaust threads were the muscle minded newer and bigger engine gurus. Tons of interesting...

Friend with '48 Chrys. P-15 wants 60's rearend

I've recieved great help from members who have guided me through my '65 GT full resto, and maybe someone can lead me in the right direction to help a friend who has been restoring a '48 Chrysler P-15 that has an ancient rear end design and he says that he's heard that some mid sixties...

added Suregrip to 8-3/4, left axle too long?

I have completely rebuilt an open end A-body rear-end adding a sure-grip and find that the right axle meets the suregrip but the left axle is about 5/8" too long. Is this normal? Can I cut the left spline 5/8+ or - and be O.K.?

    What's correct taillight '65 GT

I've been doing a full resto on a '65 Dart GT and noticed that in many thumbnail pictures I've seen to study what is common and correct, the clear backup center lense has been both on the trunk lid side and then on the outside quarter panel side. I thought mine had been switched wrong by the...

converting to 8 3/4, support plate?

I'm new and dumb but have to ask. In my '65 GT I am changing from the 7 1/4 to an A body 8 3/4 with a 489 third member. In the '65 Dart/Coronet tech. service manual it shows on pages 3-2 and 3-3 the two axles in full assembly drawings and I noticed the lighter 7 1/4 case doesn't have a support...

I need to dye dash and armpads?

My' '65 Dart had a multicracked dash pad and armpads. I was told to send them all in to "Just Dashes" with the color code. Then I found a parting out '65 4-door with a perfect blue dashpad and got all my armrests new pretty cheap on e-bay except they're all black. I called "Just Dashes for a...

converting an 8 3/4 to the correct sure-grip

So I'm converting my '65 Dart GT 7 1/4 to the 8 3/4 rear-end which I found months ago. After learning late and reading lots I see that "bolts right up" is not true and the correct "sure-grip" conversion set up has many combinations of right or wrong pieces that has to be chosen now if I don't...
