Biggest cam in stock piston 440

I know I will have to check for clearance, but I was wondering what cams you have gotten to fit in a stock piston, (no valve relief) 440? These are the older TRW #2266's, I think the newer ones with the same # sit lower. I have 906's with 2.14"/1.88" valves. I am looking at a Bullit grind, #...

Solid lifter pushrods for "B" engine

I know measuring is best, but do you know of a company that sells a set for an "average" mild performance solid lifter cam set up? I want to put a solid in my 383, with a mild .500" lift, and would really like to just buy a set of pushrods versus pulling the engine down and have it sit for a...

Yet another "what will it run".

Headed to the track tomorrow, with my pile of used junk. Here's the combo: 1967 Barracuda, 383, flat top pistons, (not new, call it freshened up). "516" casting heads, 1.74" exhaust added, ported. ElCheapo Summit .465" lift cam, stock rocker gear, Edelbrock Rpm intake, 750 DP carb. 2" TTI...

    Z-bar questions

Howdy, I have recently acquired a Duster with a 340 4-speed combo, and would like to swap a 383 into it. I have the bellhousing, but I would like to know if the Z-bar for the clutch is re-useable. I have never dealt with a 4-speed, so forgive my ignorance. Thanks in advance.

    Some good deals still exist

I thought I would share my recent purchase with you, which I consider a good deal. I live in Vt., so any decent older Chrysler product is pretty hard to find. My job sent me to a new area recently, and 100 feet off the main road, a blue Duster sat with a faded for sale sign in the windshield...

Valve springs for .528 MP cam

I am thinking of swapping the MP .528 lift mechanical cam into my 383. What would be a good valve spring for this? I was thinking the Comp 924-16's looked good. Thanks.

    Misfiring issue

Howdy guys, I have a bit of a puzzler. I decided way late in the season to get my long sitting Barracuda going. I put together a mild 383 for it, the engine is: 9.9:1 actual compression, ported closed chamber heads, Performer RPM intake, 750 DP Holley with Proform main body, (supposed to bump...

    Throttle cable

I am trying to get my '67 Barracuda to the track before the end of the season, and I have misplaced my only V-8 throttle cable. Does anyone have a spare A-body V-8 cable they would sell? Thanks.

    Battery relocation

I have a question for you guys with relocated batteries: when you relocate to the trunk, is it mandatory that the battery be in a box? I bought a relocation kit, and I would just as soon not run the cheesy plastic box it came with, not to mention it's a bit cramped in the trunk already with...

Motor plate + coilover conversion = too easy

Ready for a test fit: Engine, trans, crossmember, 10 minutes later: The exhaust, 2" TTI's, 15 minutes later: Headers went on over the factory exhaust studs. Too easy. All painted perty, back in next weekend.

    Leaf spring front eye placement

I am thrashing to get my '67 Barracuda to the track before the end of the season. When I tubbed the car years ago, I was advised to get the front of the leaf spring as LOW as possible, which I did. I definately recall reading later that getting it as HIGH as possible was best for...

    3-1/2" tailpipes

Are their any vendors that make mandrel bent 3-1/2" tailpipes? The car is tubbed, and has a fuel cell on a flat trunk floor, so fitment is a bit easier than on a stock vehicle. Thanks.

    Spark plugs

I haven't fooled with a BB Mopar in a while, and as I get closer to putting my lo-buck 383 into my 67 Barracuda, I realized I need to find out what plugs are appropriate. My big concern is, not hitting the piston! To help you fellas help me to pick a plug, the engine specs are: .030"...

    Tubular A-arms/Coilovers

Hello, I'm a newbie to the forum, and I already have a question... I am getting back on track on a long languishing project, a '67 Barracuda. I bought, (years ago), a set of tubular upper A-arms and coilover set-up for the car, (Magnum Force?), and I was wondering if I could get feedback from...

    Howdy

Just stopping by to say hello! I like the looks of the forum, I see alot of good information. My name is Paul, I'm in Vermont. My current money pit is a '67 Barracuda, I tubbed it myself years ago, and drove it for 2 years. It has been sitting a while, but I'm getting back at it finally...
