Not to sure what taper height is but I did measure 1 end then the other end.Left end is .597 from valve cover base and other end is .589 . Is there a better way to measure this ?

You should also join the Holley sniper page, a lot of good info there. I'm not sure if the New units are corrected or not. There is a build date on the distributor housing. My was from last November or December if I remember right and obvious it wasn't corrected at that time

I'm am told that you can return to Holley and they will have it fixed at no cost, I just haven't done that yet lol

I read and follow Andy's work as well. But if you bought the Holley distributor already,you need to check the shaft into the oil pump gear drive. MSD oh made the distributor made the shaft to short
