Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

Awesome restoration on an amazingly significant piece of Mopar history. Thanks for sharing! Will we be seeing this at Carlisle this summer?

    Snorkel Scoop color ?

Sorry but I think you have the answer: No scoop! It just wasn't to the question you asked. If you must, get a flat hood to mount the scoop on and paint the whole thing flat black. Set your original power bulge hood safely in the corner of your garage. That way it will be ready to put back...

    Geo's 1969 Swinger 340 thread

Awesome. I even love the sun roasted paint! I'd drive it like that. Is it as straight and un-rusty as it looks in the pictures? That car has character that you never see in a restored car. Good luck with it.

Has anyone had a car shipped from CA to the East coast

Seems that there are a few good shippers to choose from. I used DAS about 8 years ago. they were very easy to deal with and it was $650. That was for a running car dropped off at their facility in CA to NJ, dropped off at my house. At the time you could save about 150 or so on either end if you...

1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

Very cool rare car and interesting that you've owned is for so long. I went to high school in the late 70's also. I like the period correct stuff. Somehow I have a collection of aluminum slots! Are you going to keep the slots on the car? Looking forward to seeing the progress.

68 barracuda ss springs pic's wanted

This is with SS springs but with adjustable front spring hangers on the lower setting so it sits a little lower (maybe an inch) than the factory front spring hangers. Also, as you might already know, the right side will sit slightly higher since the springs are designed for drag racing. I've had...

Mirrors on a 68 Cuda? What do you like?

Sorry but I'm not a fan of sport mirrors on 60's cars at all. I intended to vote for original but accidentally voted for sport mirrors.

    A833 Installation Opinion

Are you converting from an automatic? If so, make very sure that you have the correct pilot bushing or bearing in the crank. Without that, its not going in.

That's my car now. Is your friend in North Carolina? Did we have this conversion before?

    Seldom seen colors.

Another LL1 here. I Know there are a couple of others here on fabo but not a color I've seen in person very often.

Fender Tag Advice If You Please...

Buy the way... Congrats on finding a cool rare car. I also have an original 68 340, 4 speed Notch. I've only seen two others in person. Both green cars, one in Canada and the other from NJ and now in Northern California. Maybe you can get it together enough for a trip to Carlisle this summer.

Fender Tag Advice If You Please...

I would expect it to be pretty difficult to find a fender tag for any 68 340 4sp Notch considering only 351 were built. Curious to hear if you can locate the build sheet. It's usually under the back seat or I've heard of people finding them in the headliner.

    275-60-15 tires on 67 Barracuda

275s might rub in the front. Some have no problems but I have 255/60-15s on the pretty much the same rims and there is only a little room between the front of the tire and back of the rocker panel. Hard to see but here is a picture.

    Before/After Pics Thread

The "after" is after I sold. It's a real 440+6, 4 speed, Dana 4:10 car. The next owner did a beautiful restoration. I think the car is still in North Jersey but I lost contact with the owner.

    Show me your small block!

    Pretty basic '68 340.
  27. 684mulas

    Why?!?! I hate this!!!

Like it. A lot! Not loving the paint but wouldn't go through the effort to change it. A set of steel white wagon wheels might actually help bring it all together. I'd like to do that to a Volare wagon. A wood grain sided Volare wagon!

    [SOLD] 1968 Formula S 340

That actually looks like like a great start. If you can look past the roasted off paint, it appears to be a solid original car. I'd rather that then something that's been botched up with decades of hack repairs. Great job on the resto and a great save for a rare car. Maybe he can do that to...
