I just got back from Hot August Nights in Lake Tahoe/Reno. It was cool. Over 6k cars and trucks.............all before 1974. I saw some nice A-bodies there too!! I wish I could have brought mine.

I was getting decent MPG on the highway with my / when in had a 1bbl. But since I super Sixed it. On the highway over 65MPH, it drinks it very fast. As the speedodmeter goes up, the gas gauge goes down. It has an electronic ignition and all new tune up parts. The carb has been adjusted an timed.

That happened to my /6 and it was the coil. After it heated up, it was hard to start and ran rough. Put a new coil in, start first turn of the key. Runs smooth.

What a great thread. I didn't want ot to end. My 66 needs a V8. Maybe next year.

Do what I did. With the top up, behenind the rear seat> There is a thin cardboard like panel. You will have to remove the canvas well. Remove the panel with 2 clips and replace with a thin piece of plywood. I used 5 inch speakers. I was lucky and had some grills. I cut holes in the plywood, made...

Also I just ordered some kickpanels speaker for the front.

This past Sunday, I just put 2 5" speaker in the back of my drop top. I removed the cardboard cover behind the seat and replaced it with a peice of plywood, cut holes and painted. Worked great.

Thanks for the picture. This helps me understand a few things If you could send me one of the placement of the the spring, kickdown lever and the second spring and how they are placed on the throttle bar. Maybe a top view of the throttle linkage. Also, if you could snap one of the the choke...

I did measure the the corners as you suggested. You are right. The drivers side front is 1 inch lower than the passengers side. I am trying to readjust the torsion bars.

Actually the problem was there with the old springs. The passengers side was higher that the drivers side. That is why I replaced the springs. I thought one side was gone.

I got from JC Whitney. The part #'s are the same.
