I think the only thing that had 3/8 were the Hemi cars and the 6 Pak cars. My 69 Coronet R/T 440 has 5/16 with a 1/4 return line. And to think GM had 3/8, even the 6 cylinder cars-the few that I've looked at.

You always need to look at the acc. pump bore. Many times they are scored or corroded. Leather might be more forgiving. If your TQ looks like the ones that UTG has gotten off the Titanic and says they are all junk, you might need another top.

There is another 4 digit number cast into the top somewhere. I'll go out right away and look at one of my baseplates and let you know.

Sounds like you might be better off finding another baseplate. What is the carb number, I might have a better one. The screws are 30 in/lbs.

How many long screws did you remove? Should be 10! So many morons-when they say TQ's suck because they have a cracked or warped bowl. 99% of them didn't get the 2 screws in the choke horn and break them by beating on them. Glad you are asking!

Your two pictures are considered the 3 rod bellcrank system. The long solid 1 rod setup will NOT work on an A Body.

The one piece rod setup will NOT work on an A Body.

340 A Bodies and 74 360 4bbl A Body and F and M bodies with 318 or 360 4 bbl. Probably 70's-80's pickups with 4 bbls The TQ rods are the nicest.

NOS and reproduction chokes are available on Ebay, I would sure run one also!

You need that thick gasket if you are going to use the divorced choke.

Try to piece together the 9036, it's a 74-75 440 truck carb. The truck carbs had minimum emissions stuff on them, good ones to use.

Make sure you don't get a TQ from Uncle Tony's Garage. He stores his at the bottom of Lake Erie, corroded and big holes blown in the bowl. The worst damn TQ that I have looks 20 times better than the one he was showing on the one video!

Here's a treat for the TQ guys, I have a few more-but will take a while to dig them out. A NOS Ford 460 6568 and a NOS IH 6550 for the 345-392 engines. Enjoy!

What about your kickdown linkage? Anytime I see a 2 bbl to 4 bbl swap and no mention of the throttle bracket or kickdown linkage, they usually need help. Do you know you need it?

Anyone use leather accelerator pumps in their TQ's? Are they better that the rubber ones? I'm putting together a TQ with an old Tomco carb kit, it has the leather pump-it's nice and soft. Does a person put any lube like oil or WD40 on the leather? Thanks in advance!
