Sounds like Super Stock Springs. I've read where people have said you can adjust the torsion bars some to help make the car set more level with the SS springs. You could try the Heavy Duty springs instead. I think they're just 2 of one side SS spring used on both sides but I'm not sure.

Is that stud girdle as light as it looks? I have a 1983 4.2 with 4.0 head & EFI. Could I just stick a factory stud girdle into my block or is there a difference in the main caps or something else that would be a problem?

If you can find some smaller diameter tires to put on the back for the race it would have the same effect as a lower set of gears. Maybe something on a 13" rim? Just a suggestion.

If you're asking what I think you're asking about the gear ratios...you just multiply them. A 3.08 first gear & a 3.91 rear axle gear combine to make 12.04. Is that what you're asking?

I think that much lift is on the VERY ragged edge of what stock heads can handle. I think you'll need to cut down the guides. I think you'll also want a stronger spring.

You might want to pick up a copy of the book "How to Build Big-Inch Mopar Small Blocks" by Jim Szilagyi. It'll probably answer most of your questions.

If you're talking about the basic swap a weekend would probably be plenty of time. You'll have to get the car way up in the air if you are going to try to put the engine & trans in as a unit. I'd probably put the trans in first & go from there. It's always nice to have somebody there to help...
