    Hey, Im new here

Before you engage into cut the rear, price it. It might be cheaper to use an a body 8.25 rear than cut one down. The 8.25 isn't expensive (compared to 8.75 or Dana 60).

    Hey, Im new here

That would make it the big bolt pattern. So I would start looking for that 8.25. A body rear.

    Hey, Im new here

Welcome! Quick heads up expect to spend way more than you thought you would. What brake setup are you going to use? If you go with the 73+ big bolt pattern, swap in an 8.25 rear and you can very easily bolt on rear disc brakes! 4 wheel disc brakes over drums anyday!

First off welcome to the club! Second that car looks like it's in pretty good shape. I would look at ditching the points and going to an electronic ignition. You may also want to lookup/follow slantsixdan's advice on the fuel upgrade.

Welcome to the club. So you're wanting more power outta that 340 correct? Have you thought of what way you wanna go with e.g. Stroker, forced induction, or higher revving?

Rip out that /6 (or install a turbo if you opt to keep the /6) or drop in a V8 or your choice. I'd opt for a late 80s/early 90s LA 360 Roller block. If you don't have disc brakes up front already, I'd plan on it (though 4 wheel disc would be better). Also welcome to the club!

You are going to have fun with those KH disc brakes. That said look under the rear of the car and look at the rearend. If you see no bolts you really luck out (8.75 rear), if not you have either a 7.25 or 8.25. If its the 7.25, just start looking for either the 8.75 or 8.25 rear now.

It's a slant 6, pretty much what ever you do to it will increase its value.

    1969 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback 318

At 400,000 miles or is it 4,000 miles? If at 4,000 miles 5(or10)w-30 with a zinc additive poured in as well. At 400,000, I'd pull the motor and take a good look inside. If everything looks good, I'd do a basic bearing change and new gaskets with a new cam calling it a day. Same oil either way.
