    Quietest Electric Fuel Pump

yes, your subject title is a contrdiction in terms. The new Holley 12- 150 is a lot quieter than the previous red or blue. Buddies 440 is pretty quiet with it - you can even hear the stereo. It has more like a humm than the RRRRRRRRR of the old ones.

650 speed demon dp will work great.

    Carb selection?

Too big a difference in cubes and requirements to expect one carb to do a good job for both engines. The 408 will want something in the 850-1000cfm range - just way to big for a 318. The Holley 650hp would work good on the 318 and give you some experience with tuning a holley for when you get...

Buy new carb or tune carb?

not enough carb IMHO. I'd go with a 750dp Speed Demon on a combo like yours.

holley V's Demon on the track

If I read your other post correct you are jetted 80/81. If you have a pv then the ratio is still wrong IMHO as you should have 7-8 size difference front to back. I'd try a 76/84 combo in the Demon and go 1 size up all the way around to see if the mph slows down or picks up. once you start to...

    Right Carb for my 340

Holley 670 Street Avenger - and get rid of the 509 cam - go for something like a CCams 268 - way better street performance - and less gas gussling - little work for a big pay-off.

    Demon 750 on a 12 sec 360 jet size?

    Fuel Cell Questions

Ramcharger After going the fuel cell in the trunk route and having to go from gas station to gas station all the time it seems (8gals most) I am going this route. A tad expensive but worth it in the long run. http://www.4secondsflat.com/Stock%20Fuel%20Tanks%20Modified.html not far from...

    Will a 1" spacer affect performance ?

add a 1/2" 4 hole aluminum spacer and 2 - .188 Aramid Fiber gaskets. you can get them from www.4secondsflat.com. setup will increase low end power and allow the carb to stay cooler.

Re-pro tank or fuel cell ??

go to www.4secondsflat.com for re-pro tank. they are Cdn made and are much better quality than most others. you can get them with a bottom pickup too. I went with a fuel cell - now wish I'd went with a repro - 8gals doesn't allow you to go far with a 500hp stroker - LOL.

    Carb for 416

Can copper be used for fuel line?

Don't disagree - but its kind of interesting to note in many of the fuel pressure guage kits you can buy copper tubing is supplied with the installation. too each his own. "Brakes lines" :butthead: - God must really be watching over him

Air gap or M1 intake manifold?

yes and no Its a lot easier to add a 2" spacer than it is to machine 2" off the plenum to get hood clearance - and I think you will have to agree that the majority of manifolds are made with hood clearance in mind - except the new Super Victor or Indys.

Air gap or M1 intake manifold?

I would suggest the 1" - 4 hole aluminum for your application.

    Which Carb for the Spring

I see no reason to run a holley/demon on a car that sees 90% street. No point in extra fuss, having to retune it if the sun goes down too early. That im sure will stir up the holley boys. But thats just my 2cents. Quit a statement from someone who has no personal experience on the subject...

    750 Holley

get yourself a Holley 670 street Avengerand a gasket, bolt them on the RPM manifold and go - and enjoy - I did. Its a great carb for a low compression 340.

    750 Holley

Assuming its a model 3310 - add RPM performer intake - makes a good combination on a 340.

Equal length headers to 340 manifolds. Re jet carb?

If you have a power valve in the primary side, then change the sec. jets to 82s and see what the diff. is or go 74 prim and 82 sec. If no power valve then go up 2 sizes on all 4 corners and see what happens.

    Advice on new carb purchase

"equivalent CFM ratings" - not true. BG carbs are wet flowed and will flow more air/fuel mixture than a holley of comparable cfm rating - at least until you get to the Dominator series. Drop down 4 jet sizes front and back (74/ 82) - maintaining 8 differential at all times. I think you will...
