On my 68 318 barracuda with the stock k member I had kind of the same issues. I switched to truck motor mounts which are a little taller. The taller mounts cured my issues. But I had the biscut mounts.Maybe the spool truck mounts are a little taller as well??

I put Dougs in my 318 68 Barracuda. The only issue I had the header almost hit the steering column. I used truck motor mounts which are a little taller and that took care of it. I have a mini starter and manual steering box.

I am getting ready to install my 318 into my 68 Barracuda.Can I install one or both the Dougs headers before I drop the engine in? Or should I drop the engine most of the way in then bolt up the trans mount.Then bolt the Dougs up while the engine is above the K memeber a few inches?

What do you need to do to replace the starter on a 68 A body with a 318,mini stater,and Doug's headers? Dp you have to pull the header loose?

Are the Mr Gasket Ultra seal header gaskets any good.I have a 318 with stock heads and Doug's headers.Are the gaskets that came with the Doug's and good.Looking for a header gasket that will last as long as possible.

Will Doug's headers work with a column shift auto? 318 71 A Body.

Make sure you put them right after the headers.My Dad put them in front of the mufflers on his Hemi and it sounds like a old garbage truck when idleing,so embarrassing.Man he is really losing it.....LOL

Try Summit racing mufflers cheap and sound good....

Do NOT break in your engine with them on there you will ruin them.

Well worth coating them or buying them already coated.Paint NEVER lasts on headers.Spend the extra $150.00 if you have it to spend.

I just contacted Summit and they are shipping me a new set of headers out today! Told me to hold on to the damaged ones for UPS.But I do not see where ups was at fault here.No packing material in the box only a little brown paper.And only damage to the box was at one end,not where the header was...
