741 case is fine. You can break anything if you want to but for street use and occasional track use it will do you just fine. Just keep your eyes open for a sure grip unit. I think all will fit. And motive gears has 3.73 and 3.55 sets. Let's face it, anything is better than the 7.25

Hey all, getting ready to reassemble my 8.75 and needed to know what fluid to use. It's a sure grip unit and I did get a bottle of the Sure grip additive but just didn't know what fluid everyone is comfortable with.

Has anyone used an aftermarket shifter (anything from b&m, hurst etc) with a stock console? if so are there any pictures and what shifter did you use. thanks!

yeah 73 started big bolt pattern so it will fit but you'll either need different axles if it is small bolt pattern still or 2 different sized wheels. the bolt patterns are 5x4.5 and 5x4. the bigger b body cars had the bigger bolt pattern from the factory so when you swap to the large...

i went to napa and bought one and it looked different so i went right to chrysler parts counter and ordered it. it came in 2 days later and was exactly the same as the napa one. so i used one and got the second sitting in my garage....

i have a brand new one for a 904 if it fits its your's for the shipping.

ok, so i picked up a sure grip 8.25 from what we believe to be an Aspen R/T this weekend. what can i look for stamped on the housing somewhere that can tell me a little more about it?

well i already had passed on it but when i did talk to the guy and it was 60 inches wms to wms. it had an upgrade kit to a disc brake conversion setup. i just didn't want to go throw the work to either cut it down or find different rear wheels to make it work. thanks for the replys though.

ok so i came across an 29 spline, 8.25 rear end, with disc brakes, and 3.55 gears off of a jeep cherokee for sale. anyone have any idea if this would fit on an abody? would have to be 51" wide from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface right? anything other thoughts? thanks

i'm thinking Pinion angle...... it can cause vibration for sure.....

easy..... look at the back of it.... 8-3/4 is completely round and smooth ... no bolt heads or nothing... 8-1/4 is oval shaped with bolts all around it. maybe 10? can't remember.... 7-1/4 kinda diamond shaped with 9 bolts.... i don't think you'll see the 7-1/4 though. don't quote...
