    Pretty sure its one spin of the tire to the amount of spins of the yoke of the pig (For example about 3.25 yoke turns to one tire spin would be 3.23s and so on)

    742 is a good 3rd member as welll as the 489 only thing you dont ant especially behind a big block is a 741. Have the 3.23s are great and have good response and are a good compromise gear:burnout:

    8 3/4 Rear End Howling

    My dads charger with 3.23 sure grip does this from 16 rpm up to 2800 RPM only when underload or accelerating not when coasting. But it has been like that for 20 plus years no probs and gives the car character.
