The way my Kentucky hillbilly brain came to the conclusion of shield-spacer-carb is this… if the shield deflects a certain percentage of the heat (let’s say 85% for illustrative purposes) and absorbs the rest (15%) the spacer between the shield and carb should be more than sufficient to keep...

I’ve never done either, but I think it’d make more sense to put the spacer above the heat shield. That way the carb is isolated from the heat shield.

Can have injector bungs added to an aluminum intake. Could probably have the flywheel drilled same as the magnum flywheels for the crank pickup

Dang those things are getting high! For $60 more you could’ve gotten one from tanks inc that’s powder coated and has the option to add an intank pump. That’s the route I’ll be going on my Duster once I ever redo the fuel system.

I noticed today that my mechanical pump has started leaking, and I’ve been wanting to put the magnum serpentine setup back on the engine anyway, so I think I’ll get one of those regulators...

Which regulator did you use? Name brand or cheap, knockoff version?

I've read a few places now that say that the ethanol gas will eat at the brass floats. I found this plastic one that looks like it could work but I haven't been able to find the exact dimensions for it. It's a jeep part and I know people have used them in ford pickups, Scouts and trifive chevys...

Probably need to drill a hole to drain/clean out the float before soldering on it? And then solder the hole shut?

My fuel gauge has never worked in my Duster and I discovered tonight that the cause was the brass float has a tiny tiny hole somewhere. Is there anyway to fix the float or should I just buy a new sending unit and swap the float over to mine?

Sure as heck wish my gas guage worked!! Got the car on the road sept. 24 and I ran out of gas twice and coasted up to the pump sputtering 2 other times.

Hey Evan, do those tanks come with internal or external pumps? I think the last pic confused me a little but I think I got it straight now... That's the regulated filter right? So the pump would be in-tank...
