I honestly can't tell by pictures and can't find existing threads about that. Just curious because I like the 1973 style better. Existing = 1974 318 2 door. Thanks.
74 Dart Swinger, took the hood off to black out. Now hood brackets on each side are stuck in the raised-up position. Anyone had this problem? I searched forums but not found anything about it.
Thanks.
On my '74 I just popped them off at the edge with a small screwdriver, yeah slowly and carefully. Don't know if you have any different holders on yours though.
Other areas around the windows had to slide off, too. Not as easy.
Been researching glass hoods for a while and it seems heat is not really good for them on or off the car. Also if you had it stored on its side for a year, especially in a hot garage or something, that can warp it pretty good. I'd put it on and leave it there a while.
If I get one I want it...
Not saying cost is ok it's nuts. But if you didn't get an estimate stating not to go beyond without your permission you kind of ask for trouble.
If you did all that then you should have no trouble telling them to eat anything beyond the estimate.
133 hours at maybe $50 an hour, that would be a $6650 paint job so far.
Not sure about rape, did you get an estimate and agreement to notify you if it changes? If not I think it's more like consensual. :)
I got a Stant that's supposed to fit on my '74 but it sits out too far and loose, wiggles around. The original fits fine though, I see them on Ebay a lot.
I have a '74 Dart just stripped the vinyl off of but yeah there were different retainers on mine. I ditched them all and going for something simpler which won't risk bending the trim.
I was also wondering about Miracle, and how much it usually costs to remove the engine to get under the hood as well, I don't have the knowledge or equipment to do that yet. I called Scheib for the heck of it and they said $150 for the engine compartment but everything I see says to stay away...
'74 Swinger, before and after I removed it since vinyl under the back window was rotted, plus I wanted to make sure there was no rust. Not bad, only a little, what you see is glue. Not sure if I want to recover or just paint.
