    eagle crank/pilot bushing problems anyone

Try one for a 93ish Dakota. It's a bearing..not a bushing and fits in the converter hub register. Worked perfect on my BB Eagle crank. Should be available local(NAPA) for less than $20.00. Worth a shot...hope this helps you!!

Got mine from the local NAPA. '93 Dak 318. In stock, brand new(not rebuilt),so no core.$90.00, been spinning my 10:1 470" for 5 yrs. See no reason for the fancy name brand unit of the week!

    BME Aluminum rods

I agree with Moper. Why take a good alum. rod and hang a cheap piston on it? Call Diamond and see what they can do,you may be surprised.

    Eagle crankshaft

My wife works at a foundry(25+ yrs in management) She thinks that looks like a gas hole in the casting, which should have been seen during x-ray? Going by pics though so take as an opinion.

Stock 440 rebuild: direction of piston

It means all the piston/rod assy you have on the even side(2,4,6,8)have to go on the odd side(1,3,5,7) and odds to even side. That way all the marks on the pistons face forward(like they should) and the rods fit together on the crank(bevels/fillets etc) like they should.Hope that helps?!

    holley idle issues

I'm surprised no one has mentioned timing! Is it possible you have weak advance springs causing timing advance at hot idle? Or vac. advance canister that sticks? I would put a light on it and make sure timing has not moved when it idles fast.

    Volt meter at coil terminals

Yes,not only will the coil get hot,the poor transistor(coil driver) in the ECU was not meant to carry that type of current for extended periods of time. That driver has to switch on and off every 90* of crank revolution!!

    Volt meter at coil terminals

Neg. lead of your meter on ground? If you have the neg. lead on coil neg and pos lead on coil pos. all you are measuring is voltage drop across the coil. Neg meter lead on ground and pos meter lead on coil pos should show close to system volts(if your resistor is bypassed) neg side of coil may...

    low oil pressure

Pressure doesn't seem out of line, but I gotta ask, why the big dollar Royal Purple and a Fram filter. There was a post about oil filters here(w/pics) and the Fram didn't look good inside!!
