    Thanks again for the tip hemi71x! I stopped by the wrecker on my way back from Nevada this afternoon and picked up the hood, left front fiberglass fender extension, battery tray, horn set, and some misc hardware from the 71 dart!

    I used to run champion in all of my 340’s and FWD turbo Shelby’s. About 15 years ago I had several champions on different occasions lose the insulator tip near the electrode. I made the switch to NGK’s shortly after and haven’t had any issues since.

    I see some black in that pic and understand what you are saying. Unfortunately I don’t have another pic of the area after the second application but it is pretty clear that this process does in fact remove the rust. Just takes a few applications!

    If you read the spec sheet it states that it can be used as a remover or converter. If you use it as I described it acts as a rust remover and all rust is removed like in the pic I posted. I would never use a rust converter.

    I like rust mort. Brush it on and let it soak for at least an hour but reapply every 15-20 mins to keep it wet. Scrub with a stainless brush and rinse with warm water. Removes all the rust out of the pits. Might take more than 1 application.

    You may be able to pull the rear splash shield out to access the nuts on the script and fish emblem. This pic is the driver side but should give you the general idea.

    I believe that holds the positive battery cable and slides over the top shock mount stud on the driver side inner fender.

    I believe these are correct 1969 340 valve covers. The valve covers (at least the driver side) on the pic you posted would be correct for 67ish-68 273, 318 and 340’s. It also looks to have an edelbrock performer intake installed so probably not the best example to use as a reference.

    If you are running high 11’s you will beat most of the 392 cars with stock tires or drag radials. Especially if they get excited and bury the pedal on launch. Probably super embarrassing to get smoked by a van!

    There are several stock A8 scat packs that run low 12’s on stock tires at my local track. One in particular runs 12.0’s. The newer cars are pretty easy to launch as they have traction and launch control built in.

    Surprised the flowmaster exhaust is considered a power upgrade. Their mufflers are not known for an increase in flow or power. The internal design has been shown to actually hurt flow compared to most aftermarket and even many stock mufflers. I will say they do sound good on most cars though.
