    1971 Carb. swap

Put on a remanufactured 2GC and the difference is night and day. The car immediately responds to throttle and moves pretty good. Waiting for a warm day now or someone to sell me a air box with a door. It makes for a cool ride.

    1971 Carb. swap

I went ahead and got a rebuilt factory replacement. Going to take my larger jets out of the one that's on the car now and swap em out and hope that the swap will take care of my problems.

    1971 Carb. swap

I'm looking at this again so I guess I will try to get some responses now. 71 318 w a/c so I have the Rochester, which has been rebuilt but still starves out at the point of hard throttle. Is there a BBD I can use that will bolt right up for the application?

    Diff between A/C - Non A/C AVS?

A/C. I'm only looking at Auto models as I will be running a 727. So being that there is a difference, I guess I need to make up my mind which direction I am going. Thanks for the picture. That is your 4-speed carb? Non-A/C?

    Diff between A/C - Non A/C AVS?

I'm looking at a AVS that's the correct year for my 68 Dart and it is a Non A/C carb, 4401. What, if any, is the major difference between this carb and the A/C models, 4635 and 4637? Really can't decide if I want to run the A/C on this rebuild or not. Would be great for long hot trips, but...

    1971 Carb. swap

Does anyone have any reason not to use a Carter BBD #4962 (383) instead of a BBD #4958 (318) to swap out on a stock 318 running a Rochester currently. Fed up with Rochester and didn't know if it made much of a difference which BBD I use. Also, should the swap be a simple bolt on with the...

Spreadbore or Square on mild 383 build - 68 Dart

Looking at a Holley 650 cfm spreadbore carb to go on top of my Eddy performer intake for my 383. Does anyone know what years this carb was used and maybe on what applications? List 7004-2. Does anyone have any opinions about this setup? Sounds like 650 will be plenty of carb for mildly...

    '71 rochester idle problem

Thats what I was looking for. Stock jet size is .56 MM. Have been researching and jets seem to be changed mostly if performance parts are being used or for differences in elevation/weather. I don't plan on doing any racing anytime soon but was wondering if increasing the jet size to, say, a...

    '71 rochester idle problem

That's awesome OldmanRick! Thanks for taking the time to get this to me. The jet info is just what I needed, and the exploded view will be very helpful when I tear down the Rochester. I have seen these instructions going for $15 or more online, so I am grateful.

    '71 rochester idle problem

Have been doing some reading and think you are correct 67Dart273. I guess I suspected a rebuild was in order, but didn't want to tear the carb down if something else was going on. Got a kit from the Carb Docs and a brass float. Was wondering if anyone knows the stock jetting on this carb? #...

    '71 rochester idle problem

My '71 318 rochester 2GC idles very poorly during a cold start and then during a warm start if it has been sitting for an hour +. Tried adjusting choke spring for cold start as choke seemed too open and this worked for cold start, but drove for fifteen minutes, parked, and 75 minutes later had...

Scamp 318 2bbl trouble getting started

That's another story all together. Fuel gauge doesn't work and usually can only get about three gallons in until fuel backs up and knocks pump off. Many theories about this, but hopefully new pump corrects my problem.

Scamp 318 2bbl trouble getting started

Fuel pump has been ordered. Will check choke theory tomorrow. Carter, yes. It's an all-original '71. What else can I say? Thanks all. Big help. Will update if no progress.

Scamp 318 2bbl trouble getting started

Did replace fuel line from hard line to pump recently. The pump was my thought but why only a hard start and initial idle? Runs fine after warm up and will readily start afterwards.

Scamp 318 2bbl trouble getting started

My '71 scamp has been difficult to start lately and I'm not sure what the problem is. The car is basically stock, and I run a rochester 2GC 2 bbl. I say this because it is surely a fuel issue. After the car has sat overnight, it usually will turn over just long enough to suck down whats left...
