Fuel Tank -16 gallons.....why can I only put in 10 gallons?

So did you find out where "E" really is? You could also try siphoning out the gas when your guage reads "E" (or really close to it) and see how much you get out.

Stock 340 is a holley 570 big enough?

I guess the simple answer to your question of "Is a 570 big enough or should I step up to a 670?" given the parameters of "This 340 has alot of miles and will not be raced just driven to car shows and some putting around. " would be yes its big enough for what you plan on using it for and if...

    Carb for a 340?

Whether you go with a holley or edelbrock I wouldn't go larger than a 650 for a basically stock 340. Hope you get it running right soon so you can go out and have some fun.

    what holley is this

ramcharger beat me to it. I was gonna say it sounds like a factory or factory replacement carb.

    Locking gas cap

If you were close I could have picked it for you. I have a Snap On pick set that included one for gas caps. I used it on a couple of cars and it works really well.

    Whats wrong ?????

If the heads were milled the intake would be sitting to high. Looks like the manifold was milled to match another set of heads.

    340 4bbl intake on a 318

Yeah what he said:-D The engine would run, but it wouldn't be optimum. You would have a serious "speed bump" in the airflow which would cause the atomized fuel mixture to "pool" then dump into the cylinder.

    Throttle Cable Woes

The Mopar part number for that cable is 4088095. If you have trouble finding one, I have about 8 of them:)

    Intake Upgrade?

I kind of like the LD340, but if you really want to change it I'd go with the RPM Air Gap. With your set up the LD340 should be fine.

    New gas tank question

The two 3/8" vents should be more than enough. You could try running the car with the gas cap open to see if it runs any longer before you try changing the venting. If it still dies out then it has to be something else in the system.

Time to tweak the carb again??

Yep going down the track at WOT is the wrong time to find out you have a binding linkage

    Throttle Bracket

I might have one more on hand, if I do I could get it to you for $65. I know I have a few B and RB set ups, but the small block sets don't stay in stock very long.

    Power Valve Saver

If you don't want to use carb cleaner, try a spray bottle with water. The results will be the same since you're just listening for a change in rpm when you spray. Just set the sprayer so its more of a stream.

    Throttle Bracket

Those are made by AR Engineering and the retail price shown on the website is $80 for that setup. The distributors price on ARE parts aren't that great, but I think Rick gets a lot better deal than the regular distributors. I'm a distributor for ARE and my cost with the shipping factored in is...

    Intake

The LD340 is a good manifold and like Adam said it will go to 6500 with no problem. I used to shift at 6300 with mine and have quite often run it up to 6500+. I have an Air gap for my new engine and plan on using the AR Engineering throttle cable bracket.

Mighty Demon Carb & Accelerator cable bracket issues

Do you need the throttle lever on the carb or the cable bracket that bolts to the manifold? AR Engineering makes both and thats who Don gets his from. If you need one, I got a few.

to tunnel ram or not to tunnel ram, that is the question

In the early 80s a friend of mine got his mothers 69 or70 GTX 440. They were the original owners and gave it to him for graduation. I immediately stuck in a big cam and a tunnel ram. Nothing really matched so the car didn't run very well, but he used it as a daily driver. One thing it could...

to tunnel ram or not to tunnel ram, that is the question

I always liked the looks of a tunnel ram, so much so that I have one still the box  I know they run like crap on the street, but I have a solution for that  It'll be expensive so I'm taking my time collecting parts to do it, but heres my plan. I'm having the lower part of the...

    Nitrous Kit Recommendations?

NOS has alot of experience behind them, but I have been hearing good things about the NX. Which ever brand you choose, just be sure to get the adjustable system. That way when you build you next engine that can handle more, you'll be ready :thumleft:
