Does it matter if pump is installed with trans laying parallel or does it need to be straight up and down on its end??

I actually just changed the pump part and re-used the hub part because the hub was a little different.

Figured out that the pump bushing was gone in my trans that was the culprit. Re-assembled with same fiber washer on a different pump as had .062 end play before I disassembled. Now when I install and tighten pump bolts with same washer it I have zero shaft end play. What gives?? Should a try a...

Building a 37 Dodge pickup for street and the odd time down the 1/4 mile. It's on an 89 Dodge Dakota chassis and has an 8.5 rear-end with 3.90 gears but its an open diff. Any recommendations on best bang for your buck sure grip/posi for it?? Anything else I will need to install the unit??

Car is a street car that might go to the track a couple times a year. Probably mid to low 12's ?? I am seriously considering keeping the column shifter in it as well after seeing the latest Mopar mag with that rusty 66 hemi Coronet with the linelock on the column shifter and a bench seat:headbang:

Dumb question here guys but can I break in a motor with no driveshaft :dontknow: 383 in a notchback with 4-speed conversion and I just have a yoke in the end of the tranny so it doesn't leak fluid. But as I was turning over the motor the yoke is turning. Should this be happening and will it not...
