I had this problem on my '68 'vert with a 318. The spacer helped enough I could live with it but it didn't completely cure it. I sold the car before I tried anything else but I was considering using the intake gaskets that blocked the heat riser holes. What are your thoughts on this? Dallas

I'm installing a 360 into my '68 GT 'vert. It had already had an '80s 318 put in years ago but they used the original engine accessories. I left the 360 timing cover on it and the original 2 groove pulley bolts to the 360 damper. One hole didn't quite line up (didn't on the later 318 either) but...

Well, I painted it orange. This is kind of a low budget deal so it's not going to have any chrome or polished aluminum parts. Painted a few parts black for a little contrast and sharpened the engine bay up some so I think it's going to look nice. I'll try to remember to post a couple of pics...

BTW, red looks really good with the exterior color of your car! If I had some dress-up accessories for my engine I would have likely went with a turquoise that complimented the lime engine compartment. Dallas

I'm changing the engine in my '68 Dart GT and am thinking I might as well paint it while it's out. Car has been painted '70 Lime green and the engine looks to be Chevy orange. I know '68 v-8s were originally red so should I paint it red or go with something that would look better in the lime...

Putting in an 80's 360 and using '68 318 exhaust manifolds. How do you plug the little holes below the exhaust ports? Are all of them open? It appears the middle 2 are open on my motor but the outer 2 don't go too deep. TIA, Dallas
