    PCV Question

The ideal setup is just what Ma Mopar designed-a pcv valve in one valve cover and a breather that goes into the air cleaner in the other valve cover. I learned the hard way if either is stopped up or defective (my new pcv valve was bad AND you couldn't blow thru my new chrome valve cover...

    Half sized oil filter???

Ok, Here's a couple of pics of one next to the common 'short' filter. I really don't know what application these were for as they weren't what I had intended to order. The parts guy evidently wasn't familiar with turbo 2.2 engines as these filters certainly weren't the ones commonly used. They...

    Half sized oil filter???

Many years ago when I was running turbo Mopar cars I bought some filters from my local Mopar dealer like I had never seen before. They were the approximate height as the small diameter ones normally used on 4 cyl. cars but were large diameter like a 'normal' filter. For some reason I never used...

Car stalling due to gas boiling in the Carb

I had this problem on my '68 'vert with a 318. The spacer helped enough I could live with it but it didn't completely cure it. I sold the car before I tried anything else but I was considering using the intake gaskets that blocked the heat riser holes. What are your thoughts on this? Dallas

What color should I paint my engine?

Too late, lol. It's already orange. That would really stand out against the lime engine compartment, though! Here's a pic, it's still a work in progress. Dallas

    Has anyone used pre-'70 bracketry/pulleys on a 360?

I'm installing a 360 into my '68 GT 'vert. It had already had an '80s 318 put in years ago but they used the original engine accessories. I left the 360 timing cover on it and the original 2 groove pulley bolts to the 360 damper. One hole didn't quite line up (didn't on the later 318 either) but...

What color should I paint my engine?

Well, I painted it orange. This is kind of a low budget deal so it's not going to have any chrome or polished aluminum parts. Painted a few parts black for a little contrast and sharpened the engine bay up some so I think it's going to look nice. I'll try to remember to post a couple of pics...

What color should I paint my engine?

BTW, red looks really good with the exterior color of your car! If I had some dress-up accessories for my engine I would have likely went with a turquoise that complimented the lime engine compartment. Dallas

What color should I paint my engine?

Wow! Lots of replies here! Thanks for all the feedback. All these nice engines are making me start to feel bad, though. This job started out to be a quick, low budget deal to get the car going again, but it's starting to escalate out of hand. I would like to do something really nice and custom...

What color should I paint my engine?

I'm changing the engine in my '68 Dart GT and am thinking I might as well paint it while it's out. Car has been painted '70 Lime green and the engine looks to be Chevy orange. I know '68 v-8s were originally red so should I paint it red or go with something that would look better in the lime...

    Smog ports 360

Putting in an 80's 360 and using '68 318 exhaust manifolds. How do you plug the little holes below the exhaust ports? Are all of them open? It appears the middle 2 are open on my motor but the outer 2 don't go too deep. TIA, Dallas

Sounds like it isn't too bad of a job, then. I was wondering whether to tackle it myself or hire it done. Thanks for the replies, Dallas

Pulling oil pan with engine in car

How hard is it to pull the pan on a 318 in a '68 dart? Can it be done without pulling the engine? Details please. Thanks, Dallas
