I have a 79 W150 - 318 /727 All stock.. I started the truck and was driving out of the parking lot and the high idle was engaged so I put it in neutral and quickly floored it to knock off the high idle. Immediately after and ever since then the truck has no 2nd gear. It takes a LOOONNNGGG time...

I was actually told that some military vehicle do share same motor oil, transmission fluid, ps fluid, axle fluid, etc..... So they would only have to carry one kind of fluid into battlefield.. Not sure any truth to it..

My 1990 W250 with Cummins diesel had a 70 out back a 60 up front with 3.08 gears and a NP205 Xcase... Beast.. Sure wish I still had that truck...

Yes in neutral.. Just a few seconds should be plenty to get her juices flowing..

I'm actually doing this with the guidance of my Brother-N-Law who has rebuilt several..

I'm having to rebuild the tranny in my 97 Ram 1500 4x4.. The infamous 46re.. Is there any upgrades I can do to this to make it any better? I've never heard a good thing about theses transmissions...:wack:

And look for the washer welded to the k frame...

Definitely 8 1/4 ..... Good enough for most small block build ups..... IMO....

The best way to fix it would be to replace it with a 4speed.....:headbang:

Sounds like you got you a rearend... Now all you need is a Sure Grip.... oh and some 3.91's...

Yes on the 8 1/4.... What did it come out of ???? The ratio could be stamped on the ring gear.. If not you will have to count the teeth and do some math...Oh yeah love the pic... :headbang:

If you rotate one and they both spin ??? YEP!!

I wish I could replace the 48RE in my Dodge Cummins with a 904.. I don't trust that thing, and when it goes $$$$$$$...

Oh... Your a long ways from me... I have an extra 8 1/4 .... Keep looking they are a lot out there. Check all a - bodies don't overlook the 4 doors...Good luck..

A bunch of em... No rhyme or reason to what they put them in.. I'm not sure if they put them in /6 cars though.. But they did put 7 1/4 in V-8 cars..
