    Taking 1974 360 block .60 over

    I agree with the others if it'll clean up at .040 over do it, Block would be stronger and .040 pistons are easy to get being stock 340 bore.Also give you another posible overbore to .060 over down the road.

    Getting a Valve job and having the heads surfaced cost right at $400 on my Edy heads.He honed the guides and put in new seals also.

    Oil Filters

    I used to use fram a few years ago, I tried a napa gold(Wix) filter 1 day after reading a few posts on here, and my oil presure went up 10lbs. go figure, Needless to say next door neighbor was using fram on his truck got a bad 1 and almost killed his engine.

    15 Isn't to bad depending on gears and whatnot, i think mine gets somewere around 7 in the city lol.

    340 Overheating Help

    Another thing to check , if your running a vacuum advanced dist. it could be advancing it too much, when i checked mine at cruise it was advancing the timing to like 55 deg., which was making it run hot while cruising. Just a thought. theres an alen head inside there you can turn to set it with.

    410 Stroker rad

    Run the rad. you have and see what it does,then if it's not upto the task start lookin around.The stock 318 with air rad. in my duster keps the 410 stroker at around 190/200 during the summer.

    Which year or years 360 is best

    My understanding is that the 71 thru 74 360 blocks were cast from the 340 molding,Just with a 4" bore.I'm not sure how true this is,but the 71 thru 74 blocks are thought to be a lil better.Only true way to know is to have it sonic checked.

    Time to start saving up for an R block and a Dana.Poor you lol.That is a ton of power especially on a stock block,patch it up with a girdle and full fill the block and hope it holds together till you can get the stuff ya need.

    heads are the same on 360's and 318's in the magnum motors,Nothing special about the r/t trucks just a r/t badge on emm and i think the suspension is a bit diff.Unless your talking about the mopar perf. r/t heads,there nice and flow well with work done to emm.

    You using standard felpro head gaskets?They want handle that much compresion and boost without popping.You can do it,but you'll have to run high oct race gas and keep the boost low,dunno how you would add up what oct you would need but theres prolly a calc somewere that'll tell ya what ya...

    Word of advice,might want to spray some kinda clear or somthing on the intake or paint it,left mine bare metal and it started turning funky color,Don't forget to notch the k frame a tad for that oil pan too i learned the hard way.Congrats BTW8)

    You should be in the high 11's already with slicks on it,I have preaty much the same combo, edy magnum heads OOTB,244/252 comp solid 520/540 on a 110,mech fuel pump with a 800 edy thunder series carb,3.55 gears 3500ish stall in a 904 with manual VB.First time at the track it went 12.4 at 114...

    Lots of variables to take into consideration,forged internals?cast crank hyper pistons,H beams,I beams ,recon stock beams?studs or bolts? studs add in what line honing costs, aftermarket heads, redone stock heads? On the cheap you could prolly do a nice one for around 3 or 4k on the forged side...

    Check out 440 sorce.com they have good stroker kits at resonable prices and ive heard nothing but good about there stuff.They have 400/451 400/470 400/500 and 400/512 kits i believe.there kits are all around $1300 or so.

    Mancinni has the new mopar computers for sale on there site now, there around the same price as the edelbrock setup.You have to use all the sensors and stuff on an EFI setup, they make the system work and tell the computer what it needs to add as far as fuel and spark go.Anyways i think both...

    Hemi against a 904

    Like Adam said the 904 will hold up,but it needs to be built up preaty good,i'm running a 904 with manual VB behind my 410 stroker,but it's just a weekend cruiser with a bit of track time on occasion.

    I put one on my 410 stroker buildup,i figure it's just cheap insurance,they put them on all the production 318 and 360 magnum truck vehicles.
