    Exhaust manifold leak issue ?

Had the 273 ( 65 factory 4bbl ) rebuilt and to my shame forgot ( too involved with new business ) to re-torque all the bolts. Developed an exhaust leak at the forward right exhaust manifold. Tightened the bolts but still leaking so figured a burn thru of the gasket. Not the case. Other than...

bad boy 273 cid why not

Well now......take a step back and perhaps rephrase to: "Hmmm, liked some ideas but didn't care for some others". I asked sorta the same ? last year re whether to go 340/360 or rebuild the stock 273 Charger. I got plenty of great opinions for both. I decided to rebuild the Charger only hotter...

    Taking a 1965 2bbl 273 to a 4 bbl or commando settings

Hi again. When you get the input from those who really know what they're talking about ( which ain't me ) I could help out with a stock cast iron 4bbl intake manifold. The 64-65 are different from the 66-later. I had a devil of a time finding an after market intake when I had mine rebuilt...

    Advice Appreciated

THX gents. Lifters are still up in the air on which way to go. At some point in the future ( hopefully near ) I want to put in 3.55 rear end gears. I guess I'm asking for a "build sheet" without getting into a fortune. Estimate from a few months ago was $2400-2500. 904 will get rebuilt at same...

    Advice Appreciated

Not planning on changing heads just reworking stock. Has 10.5 comp' ratio now and not sure what pistons he plans on using. The deepest I ever got into engines was head gaskets and thats been 38 years back. THX

Gettin' close to spring and rebuild time. 65 Dart GT w/273 4bbl/904 from factory. The machinist doing the rebuild has a good rep' and is a Mopar Man (69 RR). The engine will be 30 over keeping the 10.5 comp'ratio and heads will have hardened seats. Has Eddy 600cfm on stock manifold. I have a...

    65 Dart 273 to 340 ?

Many thanks for everyone's comments/advice. It sounds as though I'll be keeping the 273. Tranny rebuild is in the works, just trying to schedule and do all with one pull. $ for the engine is only delaying factor now. Again, input is greatly appreciated.

    65 Dart 273 to 340 ?

Thanks for the input. I'm exploring options. I like the idea of keeping the 273 if for no other reason it's original. Otherhand, I always wanted a 340 Cuda right after a 69 Roadrunner. They ain't gonna happen. THX again.

    65 Dart 273 to 340 ?

Instead of having my 273 Charger engine rebuilt what is the chance of a 340 dropping in place and bolting up to the 904 ? Were there any bolt hole changes made to the 340 thru the years? I couldn't find this specific topic but if I missed it...sorry. THX

    having coil issuses

I recently had the same problem with my 65 Dart. I went to "Just Answer" and had exchange with a 28 year Dodge mechanic. After running wire direct from starter to coil and ballast resistor and this and that , nothing worked. Put a multimeter on the terminals of the coil when running and check...
