So the clutch is releasing when a friend steps on the clutch pedal? If the clutch fork isn't square on the throw out bearing have you pulled it out and reinstalled it to try to square it up? How does the pivot bracket it slips into look?

Mine also connects on the top of the fork. To this spot on the bellhousing.

Does this mean the fork is going forward and the pressure plate is releasing the clutch between the pressure plate and the flywheel? Did you see a gap or able to move the disc?

Sounds odd. Both retaining springs on the bearing should be clipped to the clutch fork and the fork's pivot spring in the hole for the pivot. Adding the clutch linkage spring should not effect the contact of the fork to the bearing.

If the engine starts up without a gear being engaged and doesnt move and the pilot shaft doesn't howl, i have doubts it is your pilot bushing if you installed a new one. Could be, but not probable. Linkage or fork could also be the culprit. 10 or so years ago I had a not obviously cracked...

A couple new layers of wax. First wax in the bottom side of the hood since I took the insulation out. That old paint shines up well.. My Neighbor let me use his cooled shop.

Finished putting the new clutch linkage in place of the slipping bolt one that I took off. New clutch set over the last couple weekends . Replaced shift linkage cotter pins with the correct spring clips and washers also. Thanks to Brewers Performance for having the parts.
