    Gas boiling

Yes, it was over flowing as you describe AND you could see the gas bubbling through the sightglass. I have lowered the float level slightly but I haven't had a chance to drive it to see if the problem has corrected. As a novice and total dummy about carbs and fine tuning I listen to and check...

I will do that this week. Do you think 70 is what I need? I was leaning that way myself. Thanks for the great info. I bought the blue gaskets gotta get the jets. I have 65, 68 and 69 but no 70.

    Gas boiling

My exhaust exits under the car just in front of the axle. I am planning to run the exhaust out the back after the NSRA show. I am a little older now and it is way loud with this 360. I thought the 318 was loud....... I don't think this is heating the gas tank but I will find out step by step...

    Gas boiling

I am pretty sure that the problem will be corrected with the spacer. As I mentioned earlier I had this same issue with the 318, Eddy 318/360 Performer with a 650 Holley and the spacer fixed it so I believe a spacer should do the trick. The thing that is confusing me is the M1 intake has air gap...

    Gas boiling

lou3500, Let me know how that works out. A buddy of mine told me that there are three (3) places to get non ethenol gas in Hillsborough County. Robb, I had to add a spacer to the 318 and it solved the problem but with the M1 intake there isn't enough room for a 1/2 inch spacer. I will try a...

    Gas boiling

I appreciate all the advise and plan to add the 1/4 inch spacer this week, time is a factor. I need to get the lady cleaned up for the Southeast NSRA show, 14-16 Oct. and I don't want to start something I can't finish. I have this knack to turn a 10 minute project into a week long ordeal. There...

I am mechanically stupid. Does this intake have exhaust cross over? It is new however on a new crate engine. Thanks

    Gas boiling

Took the Barracuda out for it's maiden voyage today, about 70 miles. Some small issues I have to check. After about 35 miles I stopped at my son's house to check things out and to let him have a look see. Right off the bat we noticed that the gas was boiling in the carb.. The car was not...

Do I need a spacer for my carb?

Thank you all for the replies. I guess I will have to wait and see if the need shows itself. I was using a spacer on the 318 with a eddy performer because the carb was getting hot and boiling the gas. I haven't had that with the M1 and I was looking for the easy out of previous experience. I...

Do I need a spacer for my carb?

I really don't know if I need to add a spacer to my carb and intake combo. I have a M1 intake and a Street Avenger Holley 770 on a magnum 360. Is it necessary to use a spacer? I reallly don't know. I had a small spacer on the 318 but I don't know if I need it now. Any help would be...

electric or manual high volume fuel pump

I am ready to install the 360/380 magnum mopar crate this week. I haven't decided on which fuel pump to use. I have gotten suggestions both ways. This will be mostly a street car with an occassional trip to the track. I have used electric before and found them to be really noisy. What are the...

    Lead additive for unleaded fuel

Slantsixdan, Thank you for the excellent explanation. Now, would you tackle, ethynol, and it's effects or non-effects. I have always been told that it eats rubber in carbs. Is there a solution or is this not accurate? Thanks for any information.

    stroker fuel requirements

I agree with you completely. Perhaps that is a reason the economy is like it is. No one seems to value money any more all they want to do is spend it as quick or quicker than they get it. I think 500 hp is great for you. I didn't see where you said you were building a full out professional...

I Give Up!! Not enough Throttle Travel

I had the same issue with my 67 Barracuda when I went from a 2barrel to a 4. I am using the Lokar cable and it didn't quite travel enough. After much adjusting and moving and using different angles, clamps etc., I took the simple way out. I bent the gas pedal and greated more travel to the...

    Holley help

The jets will have a number on them, on the side. You will be able to see it when you take one out. You will probably have something in the area of 72-78 It is hard to say what you will have to do. I can tell you that you won't notice any significant change with any less than a 3 increment...

    Holley help

They do stick if they have been on awhile. It doesn't take twelve years. I use a flat paint scraper or thin gasket scraper and lightly tap it in between the carb body and the bowl. Be gentle as you don't want to scar up the joining surfaces any more than necessary. The real fun is taking off the...

    Okay. I need and education.

Toolman, thank you for the information. I am always glad to learn everyday. Is there anywhere I can get more info as to what and how they effect performance and how to remove and replace? I just had a problem with my 4160 600 cfm and I think I worked it out but now I am not sure. I have been...

    Okay. I need and education.

I read the term squirter frequently on this site. I guess I am not up on carbs much. Here I go, "What are squirters?". Are they what I call jets or are they a part I haven't learned yet? Please don't be too hard on me. Thanks#-o
