    anyone degree their cam?

Perhaps obvious to most, but not to me, I had installed the crank sprocket on my SB in the wrong location. I just aligned the similar dots facing each other and thought things were good. When I degree'd the cam I found my C/L was off. A call to Mancini confirmed things. They said that the crank...

3/8" pushrods and SB Edelbrock head clearance

I'm running a mild Crane hydraulic cam (.454"), 1.5 Crane roller rockers, dished 8:1 Ross blower pistons, Eagle H-beams on a 4.0" forged stroker crank and a BDS 6-71 blower. I needed custom length pushrods (7.05") with a cup tip for the adjuster screw, so I contacted Smith Bros. Pushrods and...

3/8" pushrods and SB Edelbrock head clearance

I'm looking for some input with the clearance needed for 3/8" pushrods and Edelbrock SB heads for my 340. I received my Smith Bros. pushrods and did a mock-up to check for the clearance and found that they rub although not shown in the pics below. What's a safe bore size to open these up?

    SB Timing chain indexing question

In my Hayes repair manual it says to take the #6 piston to TDC on the compression stroke to install my timing chain. Does this sound right... why not #1 piston? At this point I don't have the lifters or pushrods in, so can't I just align the dots on the sprockets?

Milodon windage tray on a 340 stroker

Have anyone of you installed a Milodon windage tray on your 340 stroker motor? Mine happens to have Milodon 4-bolt caps. I'm curious about the trimimg or dimpling you had to do for fit and about the possibilty of adding spacers for clearance. Thanks.

    SB head bolt question

duster340, it's a BDS 6-71 huffer set up to run 6.6% overdriven, 5.5 - 6.0 Boost, 11.5 final compression ratio with 8.0:1 pistons. I figured that would be a safe start. Using two Holley 600's also. Those are factory spool mounts in the photo. I'll probably go the polyurethane route too...

    SB head bolt question

Great info guys... Thanks! :thumrigh: The outer studs are a good idea rumblefish360. My oldest son David (16) and I test fit the tti's while the motor was on the stand and it was sorta tough to get the supplied header bolts started. In fact, one of the bolt threads were damaged. Glad I...

    SB head bolt question

Thanks BJR Racing. I'm using Edelbrock aluminum heads btw. So the head bolts are okay, but the exhaust bolts will need sealer? Which ones and what should I use for sealer? I have a tube of ARP thread sealer. Will this work on the aluminum heads? Thanks again.
