Yes it was more like over-spray. Usually only the top and sides were engine color. The rest was left to rust and flake off.

My car, which was recently for sale on FABO, is a totally clean CA car which drew no response when offered at $12,500. What makes this vehicle worth over double my price? Can you spell SCAM?

Is this true???? 1970 Dart only year with 340

I also had a 1969 Dart Swinger 340, and other years of Darts were obviously available with the 340 engine.

    1975 Road Runner

As mentioned above the 1976-1980 F-body (Volare) Roadrunners were also an interesting car. I bought one brand new in 1976 and it was a very fun car to own and drive.

Planning a 440+6 tow vehicle, need a plan

You're welcome. Yes, the Liberty's weight would be comparable to several of the vintage vehicles you would prefer to use. I hope things work out well for you with your project.

Planning a 440+6 tow vehicle, need a plan

We recently bought a 17" travel trailer with a weight of about 2300 lbs. I bought a 2012 Jeep Liberty specifically to tow this trailer. It is rated at towing capacity of 5000 lbs., just remember you need to add in all the weight you are carrying, including gas, passengers, food, clothes, etc...

How do I determine the value of a car?

I use the NADA price guide as a baseline. Obviously originality, condition, rarity, location all need to be taken into account.

Just for grins here is some information on the fastest 1965 273/235 1965 Barracudas "back in the day." Granted these were modified cars but show the potential of the 273 CI cars in the Barracuda body running in AHRA & NHRA Junior Stock classes. Doug Patterson's 1965 Barracuda "Brand X...

I need insurance on my dart. What do you have ?

I have my other vehicles insured thru American Family, so I checked with them for stated value insurance on my 1965 Barracuda Formula S. I had the car looked at before I bought it, and the gentleman who did this for me gave me a document with a stated value of $13,500. American Family accepted...

    1968 Road Runner '383' vs. 1968 Chevelle 'SS 396'

I owned a 69 RR back in the day, 383/335, torqueflite, 3:55 gears, air-grabber hood, all original I was the 2nd owner. I had two buddies with Chevelles, one a 396/325 with headers & 4 speed, the other a 396/350 with a TH-400. Neither could beat me, either on the street or at grudge night at...

    Insurance for weekend car

I have both of my daily-drivers insured thru American Family, so I asked my agent about insuring my 1965 Barracuda. I have agreed-value coverage for $13,500 with no limitations, and I pay $125 per year. By contrast Hagerty wanted a minimum of $250 for the same coverage, but also had...

    1968 '340' Barracuda vs 1968 '383' Road Runner

"Back in the Day" I had a 1969 Roadrunner with a T-Flite and 3.23 gears, and my brother had a 1970 Duster with a T-Flite and 3.23 gears. Both of these cars were totally stock with no aftermarket cams, headers, etc. We raced many times on the street and he would always beat me off the line by...

What Is A Formula 'S' Package 'Year to Year'

I appreciate your response. My fender tag shows "31255" which is correct for a 1965 Formula S. I understand that the wood grain steering wheel and Rallye stripes were both options, as was the small center console which my car also has. I am merely wondering if anyone either owns or has seen...

What Is A Formula 'S' Package 'Year to Year'

My 1965 Formula S (verified with build sheet & fender tag) has no tachometer or wood grain steering wheel, it does have the Rallye stripe. Some have told me it cannot be a Formula S without the tach, all I can say is "never say never" when it comes to Mopars. Do any other members have a...

What kind of insurance coverage does everyone have?

American Family. I have my regular cars insured with them also, so I'm not sure what effect that has. I pay only $125 per year for full coverage including towing, stated value is $13,500 on my 1965 Barracuda Formula S. I have had the car brought home twice on a flat-bed due to mechanical...

    Match Race 1972 ~ 'Duster 340 vs 'GTO 400'

My brother Dave had a brand new 1972 Demon 340 back in the day, which was basically the same car as a Duster. It had a 340, auto., AC, PS, etc. It ran high-14 second times at Union Grove Dragstrip in stock trim. A good friend of ours had a new GTO/LeMans with the low-perf. 400 engine, auto...

    273 Commando or Not?

I have been all around my 1965 Barracuda trying to determine if it's an original Formula S car, having the original fender tag would certainly help. Your car has the correct valve covers for a Commando engine, but the "30" on the build sheet does tell me it's a 273-2bbl. car. The painted...
