I have a guy wanting to buy a 64 /6 off of me and put it in his 74 Dart. I know a adapter ring is needed for a swap from a newer to an older set up, but would that be the case going the other way? I want to make sure I give him everything he is going to need from my end.

I have already talked to CharlieS about the adapter and I will be ordering it this week since it is cheap. The trans may take some time to find but all things are possible to find with the help of the internet. lol

RustyRatRod thank you for the help! I like the link to the company that makes the kit to do the engine swap without replacing the k member. I have made up my mind now and so long slant 6. I'm sure I can part out my current motor and trans to pay for the everything I need minus the new v8 motor.

Do you have any links to the companies that sell the swap kits? The biggest part of doing the swap for me would be if I can still use my pushbutton trans with a stock 318 or 360. As long as I can do that I would do the swap in a damn heartbeat. I am quickly getting over the whole slant sickness...

Has anyone used any pistons made by Silv-O-Lite? I found them on ebay which I don't normally use in the first place. I haven't heard of them before but they are the only brand I have found so far in an oversized bore for under $500 a set.

Why will I have to switch the oil pans? I'm not trying to be a smart *** I just haven't ever ran into situations like this with other motor swaps. The whole /6 seems to be a class all to itself.

Ok I cant remember what years will and wont do a direct bolt up. I have a 64 Dart with the pushbutton trans and I'm going to go buy a engine out of a 71. Would I need the adapter piece to make the motor work with my trans?

I have a 1964 dodge dart 270 with a 3.7L slant 6 and a push button torque flight transmission. I was wondering if anyone knows the fluid capacities for the engine and trans, or if someone can provide a link to a website with this info on it.
