I pulled the shifter mech out so I can match up the bolts at the hardware store. Going to be fun to adjust after its reinstalled... :BangHead:

Would losing that stop bolt cause me to only have 2nd and 4th gear?

Lost the front stop bolt and jam nut in my Hurst competition plus 4 speed mechanism while on the road ( only had 2nd and 4th to get home) Is it possible anything was damaged in the mech ? Or should I be ok just replacing it and readjusting?

My set up: small block 408 69 A Body. The issue: squealing noise on higher RPM ( in gear and neutral ), about 1/4 inch of starter gear worn down. Doesn't make the noise at idle... I pulled the trans, clutch, and flywheel to take a look, didn't find anything wrong. Put it all back together, still...

Pedal stops at max travel and I don't have a stop on it. It has good feel. I don't have a lot if time on it, just a few times around the block. If you go with the remote fluid reservoir and mount it like I did, it will gravity bleed itself.

FYI: if you get the kit, you don't need to attach the push rod to the stock location on the clutch pedal. I simply mocked it up and came straight in from the firewall to the clutch pedal, made a mark, took the pedal out and drilled my new attaching point. Some people seem to think you absolutely...

Lakewood Scatter shield in the 69 Valiant. It's a (91 block) 408 @ 476hp / 513 ft pounds of torque, 4 speed (Center Force dual friction / American Power Train hydraulic set up), with 3.73 in the 8 3/4 S.G. Stock bell in the 67 Barracuda /6, 3 speed, pegleg in its 8 3/4.

Ha ha, yeah, that pic was about a year ago! It's all good now. If this is for a console, can it be used with non console bench seat?? Got a guy looking for bench seat shifter. Just want to make sure what I got....

If the 68 has the same trans and rear, I think you'll be fine.

I am fortunate enough to have a hot tank at my disposal( potassium hydroxide heated to 180°) works great for cleaning parts, just don't put aluminum in it!!

I am using a Centerforce part number DF 269675. With an American Powertrain hydraulic conversation kit. No Z bar and no clutch fork....
