Find someone that is good at tig welding. Weld from underneath should do it.

Take the linkage off and start over. Put the Trany in park and start to adjust the linkage from the trans to the shifter. It should all drop in smoothly when correct.

Where you took your measurement already has the rocker ratio in it. So a mid .440 cam

Never had one reground, but cams are cheap. Find one that fits your build and put it in. Don't forget to brake it in rite.

I would pull it, but that's just me. It may work just fine, but it would always be in the back of my mind.

360 crank and rods and a 284 484 cam and a good single plane intake. I know where you can get the crank and rods cheap, comes with a short block.

LA heads don't have the bosses that the magnum heads have. I was thinking of doing this on the Barracuda, but stuff was not going to work for me.

oldstyle, that's a good running 318, nice flat tourqe band as well. 604, are you sure it has a cast crank in it? It should go 6500 -7000, all day long with good heads.
