Ford 8.8 people, which Master cylinder did you use?

I am going from 4 wheel drum, to 4 wheel disc with an 8.8 rear. I was going to begin by not changing anything. I figure that a 4 drum set up has to be apportioned close to 4 disc set up

    Drum/drum to disc/disc proportioning valve

I had drum brakes on my 72 Dart, front and rear. I have switched to front disc brakes and am in the process of rear disc brakes. I still have the drum/drum master cylinder on the car, is the master cylinder proportion going to be the same as disc/disc? Or should I buy a special master cylinder...

what hoses for pin type calipers?

Does it have the banjo bolt? My brakes are from a 5th ave and I have the banjo bolt. I am using this one, just haven't installed them yet: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-657302/

    95 Cherokee rear discs (pics)

all stock a-body 8 3/4 axles have the small bolt pattern, but if you are going rear disc, you will probably have to go with big bolt pattern.

    95 Cherokee rear discs (pics)

Keep the brakes on the top. If you put them on the bottom, dirt and mud will settle on top of the brake pads and fall into the caliper. I hope you can understand what I am saying, I explained it a litle unclear.

Jeep rear discs on an 8 3/4 axle solution

All of your custom made parts have been inspirational to my 72 Dart. I haven't done hardly **** to mine, but when I look at one of your threads, I go and get at least something done on it... Even the axle shortening that chapped that others a$$. Keep up the great work

Jeep rear discs on an 8 3/4 axle solution

Why couldn't you just have the backing plate put on before the bearing, and then press the bearing on? Would that work or am I picturing it wrong?

Jeep rear discs on an 8 3/4 axle solution

I know this is old, but I am interested to see if you did this? I think a dana 44 does have the same size axles (spline and thickness).

    bigger disk brakes

Then you have a few cheap options. 1. Either find a 73-76 A-body and grab the brakes, spindles, and upper control arms. 2. Find a 5th ave, diplomat, or something like that: http://www.bigblockdart.com/techpages/spindles.shtml 3. Find an aftermarket kit, I am sure someone has the link, but...

Which flexable brake line to use?

I have a 1972 Dodge dart that I did the disc brake conversion on. The new brakes came off from a 5th ave and the calipers have a banjo bolt. I am looking to get a set of braided flexably lines to replace the dry rotted rubber ones. Anyone have a part number or a recommendation for length and...

    Disk Brake Conversion question

Yes, I did change the lower ball joints to the newer 73-76 style joints. Also put on tubular UCA, and disk brake spindles. The UCA rubbed against the mounts on the frame, didn't like having to trim that area. I just like the calipers on the rear of the rotors, keeps the dirt out (dirt causes...

    Disk Brake Conversion question

Thanks for the quick reply Green1, I am not really worried about the alignment issue. I am just really wondering if there is any issues with having the spindles switched from side to side.

    Disk Brake Conversion question

I had just done a disk brake swap on my 72 Dart. I had installed the Calipers on the rear of disks instead of the front. Is there gonna be any issues if I leave the calipers on the rears of the rotors rather than the front. The only immediate issue I had noticed, and may not be from the install...

    F-Body Spindle on A-Body problem

I took them out by unbolting the UCA from the frame because it was all being replaced. I am not gonna tighten them up yet, I have decided to replace the torsion bars with the new 1" ones while I have it up and apart.

    F-Body Spindle on A-Body problem

Thanks for the info, Thats pretty much what I was thinking, but to get them bolted in, the torsion bar bolt is practically on with 4 threads. I have not set the dart back on the ground yet, so I imagine it will push up a bit and need to be adjusted tighter again. I just have not done a disc...

    F-Body Spindle on A-Body problem

I got a set of spindles, brakes, and calipers off from a mid 80's 5th aveish vehicle. I bought a set of new lower ball joints from rock-auto, and new grade 8, 5/8x2 1/2x18 bolts to bolt them together, and I got a set of used magnum force tubular UCA with the bigger ball joint. Eveything seemed...
