    Best coil? GT40R, or SU12R?

Awww guys, this has to be one of the nicest offers EVER. But i've already received my Bosch GT40R, $42 AUD to my door. Granted, if it doesn't do 'tha job' then i'll be coming back to ya to see if the offer stands. So i've got replacement dizzy rotor, points set, coil and cap. already...

    Best coil? GT40R, or SU12R?

Thanks man, but those are really expensive options here in Aus. I'll stick with the Bosch GT40R i think. Folks on the Mopar forum here [in Aus] say it's better than stock . . .

    Best coil? GT40R, or SU12R?

Any tips? So my coil has packed it in. Should I go the Bosch GT40R, or the SU12R? Any prefs?

you gotta set the video permissions to 'everyone'. if its just 'friends' or 'friends of friends' then thats who can see it. that's what i did to post mine. (gotta do an update on mine soon - got mah new white walls at last!)

Video - stock slant six, open pipes

i'll get a proper vid of it soon. my four year old is more likely to run away than hold the camera still! best sound EVER - 80km/h, second gear over-run rolling downhill through the Burnley Tunnel here in Melbourne. I swear it sounds like flames are spitting out from underneath the car...

Video - stock slant six, open pipes

here's my stock slant six, with 70,000 miles, performance air cleaner, 2 1/4" system from stock manifold and electric exhaust cut-out just under passenger seat.

    Dumper.

Well, as you can tell the main 2.25" is pretty darn old and will be replaced when I go to the twin carbs and extractors (what you call long-primary headers). It's on a stock 225 at present - only changes are the 2.25" pipe from the stock exhaust manifold, and a performance air cleaner. I...

Thanks Big Al. It sounds pretty damn hot, even on a stock /6. just wait till I (finally) do the twin carbs and extractors!

Show your slant 6 a body!

too right - a nice Valiant 2-door coupe or drop top based on the 62-67 size would have rounded it all out for Chrysler in Australia i reckon. but we're a tiny market, and the ute would'a been much more important to brand positioning. OMG i found a BLOWN VC UTE - here's one to check out, but...

Show your slant 6 a body!

yeah. you got the barracuda and the Signet 2-door / convertables. we got the ute. who's the winner here? note that the ute doors are sedan-length, not the longer ones you folks have . . . I know one block who mated a T4 adaptor to a stock /6 exhaust manifold. it would'a worked, but he...

Show your slant 6 a body!

*smirk* RHS / LHS = the ongoing battle. no, we never had a 'cuda here (*sob*). we had coupes and the later hard tops and of course our version of a charger, but the only 2-door variant of the smaller 60's was the ute. (someones VC ute - posted as an example. NOT MINE!) some proper info ...

'VC' is the Australian Chrysler 1966 /1967 model. came as a sedan, wagoon or ute, slant six or 273 V8 ('standard' was the basic no heater manual three on tree or 'regal', which was auto with heater / demist and split-bench seats) it's pretty much the same as your '66 Valiants (signet / 'cuda...

aww thanks, man. funny, i love your car too i just reckon it's missing one thing - MOON DISCS. nah seriously, this is my fourth VC Valiant, and i've always wanted to do this look (white walls / moon discs). i would have liked to get the style that screw onto the rim for the 'realism', but...

    Offy dual intake question

this is perfect timing for me, as i'm just getting back to setting up my Speco dual 1bbl. the choke info is good, but i'll be going long-primary extractors so i think i need manual choke with y-cable.. if i am still doing this set-up. i think i just realised i need to go turbo. ha! or...

    Turbo /6 or v8

damn i gotta just ditch my plans of my /6 with a dual single-barrel carbie, extractors with cut-outs and a thumpr cam and just go turbo!

if that doesn't come through, maybe look at the Aussiespeed long runner - comes in 2 or 4 barrel. it doesn't take up quite as much room as the 'angry squid' hyperpack. website glory shot:

Hate to sound like a newb, but...

yeah, the only problem is the cost of shipping to Australia - means Dutra Duals are just not an option. hence i'm looking modding up a set myself using what i have available . . . chris.
  26. mfdu

Hate to sound like a newb, but...

i'm going to jump on this with a small mod project i've got. so how about modding a stock manifold to achieve duals like this (from Waggin): i'm starting to chop up a stock manifold to try to recreate this, and here in Australia we just don't get as cold as you seppo's so the heat-box...

    PowerPipe Exhaust for slant/6

regarding the DC's, any ideas on delivery cost to australia? otherwise, availability of plans, so i can get them made up locally? i love the idea of duals running off the DC, with my twin-carb manifold running stock air cleaners - trying to make it look like it rolled off the factory like...

    clifford or offenhouser intake??

from our aussie mopar forum (ie. repost): "the manifolds shown above are: (starting at top, clockwise) Factory Alm. 1 BBL, Clifford Triple Webber, Clifford 4 BBL, Factory "Super Six" (Iron),"Repo" Hyper-Pak, Offy Dual 1 BBLs (can be opened-up for 2 BBLs or Webbers)" i thought the...

more on my '67 VC. i have to decide 2" lowering blocks, or 1.5"? what do you think? she's a bit low in the nose after going nuts winding down the torson bars - i want her sitting low, with a slightly higher nose. a bit of a gasser look, but not crazy high nose like the old school chebbies...
