What you guys are saying is what i found when searching. Some people say with some filing they work great and others say they took it back out. Now i just need to decide if its worth trying and messing with it or not.

It had converter failure that caused debris through trans. Valve body needs to come apart to be cleaned and inspected. I would like the instructions to know it is properly set-up when putting back together. Thanks

Here are some pics of the valve body. The only things I can see different so far without taking apart is the pressure regulator spring is blue and there is what looks to be a stiffner plate added to the rear.

The year of kit is unknown. It is from a friends car that had trans problems and all he knows it is a tf-3 kit in valvebody. So i am looking for some instructions so i can go through valvebody for him.

Wondering if anyone has instructions for transgo tf-3 kit? I searched and i cant find them anywhere online. Thanks

I am a trans tech at our dealer and i have only replaced one for a bad bearing. Some have chain noise at slow speeds but they have been durable.

Stall is going to vary with lots of things such as cam,gears,car weight etc. The best thing you can do is call a good converter company such as ultimate,ptc,dynamic and tell them your combo.

Flat rate time is about 14.5hrs for that job. From the overrunning clutch to the pump it is the same as a 727 or 904 (depending if it is a 46rh or 44rh). If you are going to take o/d unit apart you will need a press to compress unit to get snap ring out becuase there is a VERY big spring in it...

Make sure you tires are same diameter from front to rear that can sometimes cause that issue because most of those transfer cases are non syncronized.
