    Roller cam and turbo charging

I guess it really depends on your goals the cam you picked if its a solid roller seems similar to a truck or rv cam for 400+ cid. A solid lifter cam acts smaller than a similar spec hydraulic cam due to the lash the more lash the more smaller the cam acts. My cam is a hydraulic flat tappet with...

Remote mount turbo on a 318?

Hey all, thinking about throwing together a super cheap 318 turbo engine for my truck. I picked up a 318. Did a budget overhaul, been given performer cam, small 204 at .050 and .448 with 1.6 lift. Or I have a crane cam 216 at .050 with .484 lift. I have magnum heads fresh valve job, pocket...

valve seals on exhaust side of turbo big block.

Im wondering, if I should run exhaust valve seals on a turbo engine. On other engines I have left the exhaust seals off, to get a little more oil in the guide, since the valves run hotter, trying to keep them from seizing. The only engines I have put the seals on are Ford 2.3s since they eat up...

    rethinking my whole combo.

Cool, I work on Bugs everyday, We build rails, bajas and other vw powered vehicles. We build custom beams, rear trailing arms, cages and a ton of other things. I do have a set of h116cp pistons floating around that i could always use, but that would put the compression way up there for a turbo...

    rethinking my whole combo.

Thanks guys, My goal is to run low 12 maybe hi 11s. I want a fairly smooth idle, and be able to run ac. Right now i have 3.91 gears and will probably be trading for some 3.25s when the turbo motor gets built. I have a tight 3500 converter, and was thinking about still using it, im just worried...

    rethinking my whole combo.

Well If I can use a smaller carb that would be good. I have a 650cfm double pumper that i can send in. I could have the heads milled to get some rise in compression but not that much. I was planning on around 8 psi for now.

    rethinking my whole combo.

9.5 to 1 on a turbo motor??!! Iv always run 8 to 1 on my 2.3 turbo cars, and it worked well. I would think that the custom log manifolds would flow more than a set of factory manifolds As for the carb thats what i was told to run by the place that is going to set it up for blow through, but I...
