crank pulley bolts to balancer to long ,scraping the timing cover ??

Actually the 273 rod is a little bit heaver than the same bushed 340 rod... I was surprised when I was balancing up Vic's 273 as to the weight of the big and small ends. :coffee2:

my vote is wiped cam lobe from possible incorrect break in procedure . O:)

has the engine been apart recently ?? possibly wrong bolts {too long} on the crank pulley-to-balancer ????? bolts rubbing the timing cover O:)

won't there be a big exhaust leak from the port mismatch with the 273 ex. manifolds ????

bought one for a 66 locally for $25 looks neat,but unless you're restoring, there are much nicer intakes to be had. :thumrigh:
