Hey Chris (or whoever can help) - I'm going to replacing the valve body and the torque converter in my tranny sometime in the next week or two. I was planning on pulling the transmission out of the car to do it. But do I need to? Can I swap these parts with it still in the car?

I pulled out the old (broken) Sure-Grip, installed a Dana Track-Lock. Both wheels are spinning like they should. Plus the pinion bearing was shot, so we replaced all of the bearings in the rear. The ring & pinion looked like were brand new (they're 4 years old). Yeeeeeeehah!
