Front fender had a broken bolt I had to drill out and clean up...

She is ready for final cleaning prep and epoxy on Sunday as it is suppose to be 70 degrees and sunny!

I have 2 holes in my quarter on the 67 that they did the same thing with a punch but the holes are about 7/16. I'm going to have to get a big nail head to weld in there or cut it out.

The owner finally made it out to the garage yesterday!

The hood is done but the trunk lip needs attention... it was obvious after blasting....

Today was epoxy primer day.... 1 gallon at a time is all I am good for..... After one gallon we quit. The patch panels and inner wells are epoxied so we can start welding the patch panels on and then more epoxy needs to come out so there is plenty to do still.....

Fresh epoxy is so nice....

I always forget that place is there. I drive through twice a month sometimes even more.

Pealed another 8" on each side of the trunk and now I can get to the guts to blast and seal it... much easier than cutting and welding...

Attacked the doors to get them stripped down..... they could not decide on a regulator and wing window design they liked.... Man they are all different....

The return spring is broken for the LH door handle... Need to find another one. Also the door hinges are different on these early A-Bodies... need to find how to rebuild them or who has a kit...

Getting really tired if blasting but I think we are about done. The cancer is eradicated from the trunk seam and lip and the door are done.... Brushed on epoxy with a brush in the trunk to make sure I got it all with it split.... Only thing left is to sand the exterior paint off the trunk lid and we can start going back in the positive direction. The door had some issues after the wife got the paint off the surface.... another patch after a bit of blasting...

Not much done on the Dart as yesterday was more of a FABO social day. First I drove an hour and a half to meet @valiantpatrol and pick up an early A /6 oil pan and pickup tube along with a kick down lever for the 904 that was in one piece instead of 2 like mine. After that @Stephen Hotz and his family arrived from Texas for the Zip Tie Drags in Tucson this weekend and we spent the evening with him and his family. All I can say is you meet the nicest people with your Mopar....

Was fun. I have to say though as nice as Jim's cars arein photos, they are nicer in person. Had a blast visiting with him and his family.

Was a great weekend for working but I just wasn't feeling it... spent most of the weekend in the lounger watching movies on Netflix and buying parts.....

Mocked up the front suspension parts and found the front brake cylinders hit the backing plates. Double checked and they should be correct.... gonna take some grinder action to get them to set flush.... Ordered a bunch of parts from the Mopar Mall like factory correct battery cables and a few other items reproduced for the early A's that I have never seen before...

Back to the Austin area next week so maybe next weekend.

Got a lot of work done today, much more than I expected....

Spot welded in ready for a grind and final welds.

DSC_0170.jpg

Final welds, I am getting MUCH better at welding.. I can tell what needs to be adjusted when it is not working quite right now.

First patch ground off and second tacked on

DSC_0173.jpg

Lots of spot welds..

DSC_0174.jpg

First grind down.

DSC_0175.jpg

Fully welded ready for final grinding..

DSC_0176.jpg

All ground down and DA'ed ready for epoxy primer.

DSC_0177.jpg

And I have the patches for the other side all cut and fitted ready to sand and epoxy prime the back sides of them..

DSC_0178.jpg

Getting ready to weld in the patch panels on the LH side tomorrow so I needed to get the epoxy primer on the backside. Doing that I may as well paint everything that I can since making the mess. I thought I could do both sides of the doors but I forgot about the little issues before I fixed the small rust spot in the LH door....

Perfect patch piece left over with the perfect bend...

Make a template....

That orange coronet looks familiar. Is that the famous coronet that's starring in the popular TV show My Classic Car with Dennis Gage?
